Jason is a man who has ever given, to his country, his community, and his family, to an inspiring degree. His wife, with whom he has two sons, was recently diagnosed with adrenal cortical carcinoma, a rare and virulent form of cancer, which has left her unable to work. Daley comes to terms with Bellator, is entering Welterweight GP
Paul 'Semtex' Daley has had a sometimes contentious relationship with management during his three years with Bellator MMA, but ESPN's Ariel Helwani reports that he has re-signed with the promotion, and is is the 10th and final fighter in the 2018 Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix. It's believed that he will fight the undefeated Michael 'Venom' Page, but president Scott Coker said no final decision as to opponent has been made. The GP kicks begins on Sept. 29 in San Jose, Calif with former champs Douglas Lima and Andrey Koreshkov.

ESPN's Ariel Helwani is reporting that UFC flyweight champion Nicco Montano will make her first title defense vs. monster striker Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 228 on September 8, 2018 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Montano improbably became the inaugural women's 125 champ defeating Roxanne Modafferi in the fight of the night at The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale on December 1, 2017. Montano entered TUF coming off a loss, with a 3-2 record.

It's the third consecutive event with < 500,000 viewers, and part of general downward trend in mixed martial arts ratings in North America. MVP wants Daley in Bellator welterweight GP, unsurprised he's not
When nine of the ten fighters in the Bellator welterweight Grand Prix were named, Michael 'Venon' Page was on the list, but Paul Daley conspicuously wasn't. "You know who I want -- Paul Daley,” said MVP to Sherdog. ”If I get that fight, I would leave MMA happy. We need to fight. If he ends up in the tournament, that would be good. I’d love to be the first person to kick him right out of it. He does his own thing. It doesn’t really surprise me that he’s not in it. I’m in the tournament and that’s all that matters.”
