McGregor analysis and statement on UFC 229 loss
White: Rest of the world didn't care about UFC 229 melee, but I did
Dana White tells ESPN his reaction to the UFC 229 post-fight melee: "All the work I put that I put into this the last 20 years of my life … For me, it was just our biggest moment, the most people watching ever, and that’s just not who we are. And it’s not even who Khabib is. He said many time after the fight that he went crazy after the fight and it happens sometimes. This is the fight business. But yeah, I was the most upset guy on the planet after that fight. Nobody else cared." H/T USA Today

Brandon Vera sums up ONE Championship in one word
"Respect. That word alone. They give the fighters the respect that they deserve as modern-day samurai, as modern day elite athletes, as modern day gladiators. They treat them well for the performance that they want to see. That’s the only way I can explain it, is the amount of respect that they give to, each and everyone single one of the athletes. ... The same word that I used to describe ONE Championship is the exact same word that I used when I told Dana White the reason why I was leaving the company. They had no respect for any of the athletes. The way they spoke to them, the way they treated them. The way that they talked to them or the way they looked at them.” H/T Forbes

DC downplays Derrick Lewis fight risk
Champ champ Daniel Cormier fights Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 on 11/3 for his heavyweight belt. He is scheduled to lose the light heavyweight title when Jon Jones fights Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 on 12/29. He says if he loses on November, that could complicate the 205 title picture, but he's not afraid: “There’s anxiety every time I fight, but that doesn’t matter. To think, ‘Oh man, it could be gone in no time.’ Last July I had zero (belts). I lost. Then they said, ‘Here, you can have it back.’ Really, I had none. I had no titles. From 2009 to 2013, I had no UFC titles. Then for about a month in 2017 I had no UFC titles. So, not having a UFC title isn’t new to me. It’s just now I have them in abundance. I have two.” H/T MMAjunkie
How Rogan pointed Jon Jones toward a super camp
On a recent JRE MMA Show, Rogan talked about hanging with a 21-year-old Jon Jones, who was training at the time at the respected Bomb Squad in upper New York state.“We also had a conversation with him about I was wanting him to go to a different camp,” Rogan recalled. “I was like, ‘You’re too good. You should be in a real camp ... You could be an all-time great, man.’ I remember telling him that. He was like, ‘You really think so?’ I was like, ‘I know so. You’ve really got to move on.' I hope it helped. I mean, he might have done it anyway. Who knows? But I think it was a good conversation to have with a young guy." Jones went briefly to Tristar before joining Jackson-Wink MMA later that year. H/T MMAjunkie

Weidman: I get title shot with win over Jacare
Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman appeared recently on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show and argued he would get a title shot with a win over late replacement 'Jacare' Souza at UFC 230 on 11/3: "I win this fight, I'm fighting for the title. I was obviously close to fighting for the title before this fight, beating Gastelum and finishing him. It was between me and him, who was going to be fighting Whittaker. They decided to go with Gastelum.” But Weidman with a win is already an injury replacement. H/T ESPN

Anik signs 4-year contract extension
The UFC is moving from FOX to ESPN and ESPN+ in 2019, and play-by-play commentator Jon Anik says he will remain: “It’s a multi-year extension, and it’s very exciting for me to be able to be a part of this new era with ESPN ... as a lot of people know, that’s where I sort of cut my teeth in television and radio, and that’s where I really starting covering mixed martial arts back in 2007 and 2008, so it sort of feels like we’re coming full-circle a little bit. Now, 10 years later, the UFC and ESPN have the whole domestic package aligned, so it’s a good time ... this is where I wanted to be. This has become the foremost passion in my life, and I just couldn’t imagine my life without UFC being a big part of it. I’m thankful that it got done.” H/T MMAjunkie
Cormier: I might not be giving up the light heavyweight title
Jon Jones fights Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 on 12/29 for the belt that will have been stripped from champ champ Daniel Cormier, as the bell rings. However, during a UFC 230 media scrum, DC, who defends the heavyweight belt vs. Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 on 11/3 at MSG, said not so fast: "If I lost to Derrick, then who’s to say I don’t go, hey, I’m going to go defend my light heavyweight title. Now you can’t take it. Maybe that adds a whole other part to the equation. You can’t take both of my belts if I lost that one. I am the light heavyweight champion until those guys fight. If the light heavyweight champion loses his heavyweight title, well, wait, I’m willing to defend my belt. Now we have some conversations to have." H/T MMA Weekly

DC: UFC won't do me dirty and give Lesnar fight to Jones
Champ champ Daniel Cormier fights Derrick Lewis, then has one more fight vs. Brock Lesnar, and then plans to retire. DC was asked if he thinks the UFC might instead match Lesnar with Jon Jones, who fights Alexander Gustafsson for Cormier's vacated light heavyweight belt: “No. I’ve got to be honest with you: Over the course of my career, I haven’t been done like that. I haven’t had anything promised to me that hasn’t been delivered. The UFC’s been good to me. I don’t worry about that. I know I’m going to fight Lesnar. There’s nobody or anything that could change that. They’ve never done me like that, so there’s no reason to believe it would start now.” H/T MMAjunkie
