Fighter Bio
Career
Gerald Harris (born November 19, 1979 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He is currently fighting for the Portland Wolfpack of the International Fight League.
Harris stumbled into Mixed Martial Arts by accident when his first fight was an exhibition bout that was just something a friend convinced him to do for fun. He beat his opponent so badly that he was invited to join the tournament and thus his professional fighting career began in August 2006. Harris won his first three matches before losing a controversial split decision to Fabio Leopoldo in his International Fight League debut.
Harris currently is a high school history teacher. In addition he spends his free time managing his own stand-up comedy routine. He books all his own gigs, promotes them, and produces them. Gerald has five brothers and three sisters. Harris is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans.
