Mo Fowzi a British transplant to the U.S who first met Zinoviev three years ago at a small gym in Queens, NY. Fowzi grew up in the tough urban streets of London, where fighting was a way of life for working-class children. He had to fight, kick, scratch, and claw his way through every day, and in the process he discovered that he had a talent for physical combat. Fowzi came to the United States with dreams of making it big as a boxer. The opportunities in the sport seemed much greater here than in England, so he started his American tour off by competing in the Golden Gloves Championships in Madison Square Garden. But Fowzi’s joy turned to rage when the fight ended and he was handed a decision loss in a bout that he clearly thought he had won.
Fowzi is fairly new to professional MMA competition, though he has trained in the sport for years. The team concept makes perfect sense to him. Fowzi is currently fighting for the Chicago-based Red Bears team under Russian fighting legend Igor Zinoviev and currently competing in heavyweight division in the International Fight League.
