Josh Pulsifer is a teacher, a wrestling coach, and a family man with a lot to juggle in Broken Arrow Oklahoma. He has one son as of September 13, 2008 and teaches and coaches for Union Public Schools in Tulsa, OK. Josh wrestled for Broken Arrow High School 1998-2001 and was a two time HS all-American, (freestyle/greco) as well as a State Placer, and State Champion. He went on to Missouri Valley College on a wrestling scholarship where he was a two time NAIA All-American, and a National Runner-Up. He started training MMA with friends in Tulsa while he was in high school at Mikey's Gym under UFC Vet Mikey Burnett who happened to be one of his first wrestling coaches. After college Josh got married and eventually got a job in education, but he still had the need to compete. Seeing some of his teammates LC Davis, and Deryk Ripley having success in MMA ignited a spark in him. He got to work under several good local trainers at Tulsa Top Team and OFC, the most notable being Blake Hayes, Lester Phillips, Beau Taylor, Josh Clopton, Jon Carson, and Current UFC Fighter and TUF 5 standout Matt Wiman, as well as UFC veteran Mikey Burnett. After several months of training he took his first fight on nine days notice and went on a tear. After winning five straight fights at 145lbs in the first round he suffered his first loss, Mike Budnik at 155lbs. Other notable match ups include: Eric Payne, and Micah Miller, Payne winning due to an injury and Miller stopping the fight mid way through the final round. Josh is currently 14-4 with an 86% finish rate including 10 submissions 2 TKO's and 9 first round finishes. He holds notable wins over Don Frye on HdNet Fights under card, Nick Gibbons on the Strikeforce Challengers under card, and Jarred Lopez Current FCF champ at 145 for the 5150 Combat Title at 145 lbs. Pulsifer currently holds both the XFL and 5150 featherweight titles and is looking for his next big fight after wrestling season.
