Hi everyone! My name is Peter 'superpower" Nwaorgu aka Paries St Peter. I was born in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, West Africa. I came to the U.S several years ago mainly because my father lived here. Within those years, my greatest accomplishments have been tremendous! Among themm was having a baby girl, Chika, who is 5 yrs now, and then obtaining a B.Sc degree in Biology from Morgan State University.
LIFE IN NIGERIA:
I found love in boxing several years ago when I was about 10-11 years old or early in my teenage years or so, but as long I can remember, I was a tough child that loved challanges and whatsoever... street fighting, fought my fights and my older brother's fights! I was that bad that my mom got complains from parents of the kids I fought. In fact, I was so strong that my friends called me "Power" while one of my uncles still calls me "Super" which brought about my nickname! Me and several friends of mine thought about making punch bags with sand and we did: we filled a big bag with sand, hung it on a tree and punched it until the bag bursted! We started punching concrete walls ( believe or not, we did) and only the strong survived the brutal machoman-kind of growing-up training ...etc!
In U.S.A Several years ago, I joined Mack Lewis Gym in East Baltimore. Mr Lewis nephew invited me to the gym when he saw me at a Home Depot store where I worked. At the store, me and a couple of friends talked about boxing at all times. In fact, me and 2 other friends wanted to box but none of them followed me to the gym, but I ran a few times with one of them. When I joined the gym, I was very excited and had a good trainer, but he never wanted to put me in a fight, saying that I needed to get better. However, one day when he wasn't there, I sparred with a teammate and KO'd him and ws the man of the gym then. As time passed, I became frustrated due to lack of fights and left the gym one day when an old man that comes there to train bursted my lips trying to teach me how to land my punches. 2-3 years later in 2008, I went back to the gym and saw new faces... too many kids! I left again and never went back!
LOVE reappears again! A friend of mine whose wife babysits my daughter has a friend who knows or works for a guy that train/has his own gym. One day I went to pick up my child and happened to meet my friend and his friend talking and without hesitating, my friend introduced me to the guy and my number was given to him right away. Next time, I was called by a trainer/gym owner (Bryan)to come in and and meet Josh. I went in that first night, Josh examined me, send me to the punching bags, minutes later, I wrestled 3 guys of whom I slammed all of them on the canvas and became exhausted!
Then I started training with this team until now...! Hopefully I will go further with this lovely career!
