Biography of Chad Robo
Professor Chad "Robo" (born August 1975), the current Legacy FC Bantamwieght Champion is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Black Belt and an undefeated Pro Mixed Martial Arts Fighter, who has been a martial artist since the age of 5. After a life of martial arts and practicing BJJ since 1996, he was promoted in Brazil to the rank of Black Belt and is a direct black belt of the legendary Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and Multiple Time World Champion, Professor David Vieira Da Silva. Chad is also a Black Belt in Traditional Jiu-Jitsu, and a Combative Fighting System Black Belt.
Chad fights out of Gracie Barra The Woodlands, and is trained by Gracie Barra Professors Marcelo De Souza and Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes, 33-1 Pro Boxer Lewis Wood, MTIA and USMF Champion - MuayThai Specialist Daniel Kim, along his students and key training partners such as, BJJ Black Belt Alex Gotay, WEC and Dream Veteran Todd Moore, and Wrestling Coach Jody Trantham.
in addition to local media publications, Chad has been featured on the covers of Undefeated Magazine and Texas Fight News, and has appeared on ESPN Sports Radio and NBC's The Scott Templeton Show.
Off the mat, Chad has an MBA from New York Tech and is a combat veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Special Operations Force Reconnaissance Marine. Chad's MMA hero and friend is 7x King of Pancrase and UFC top contender Nate "The Great" Marquardt, who Chad was privileged to train with for 3 years in Colorado. Nate's work ethic and relationship with God is the cornerstone to his success that Chad works to emulate in the sport.
