Career
Ryan McGivern (born January 17, 1980) is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He is currently fighting for the Quad City Silverbacks of the International Fight League.
When not in the ring, McGivern works for another – the U.S. Army, as a civilian general engineer at Rock Island, Illinois.
The well-rounded and well-grounded – McGivern was involved in many activities at the University of Iowa, including the Air Force ROTC and campus ministries, not to mention his B.S. in Industrial Engineering. But mixed martial arts always retained a pull on his attentions, and his competitive juices led him to more serious training and eventually a spot on Miletich’s squad.
McGivern lists his interests as snowboarding, reading and writing fantasy adventure stories, and dancing, McGivern is among the most personable people to meet.
