Career
Hector "Sick dog" Ramirez is an American mixed martial artist who was born in Norwalk, California. Ramirez currently fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization (UFC). He currently holds Pit Fighting 205-pound champion, ranked third in King of the Cage at light heavyweight.
Ramirez has a wrestling background. He went to John Glenn High of Norwalk where he was a CIF champion and state qualifier in wrestling. He hung up his wrestling shoes after high school because he needed to get a job support his future wife. After a four-year hiatus from wrestling, Ramirez decided to give it another try. Ramirez maintained a full class load and the construction job during his two years at East Los Angeles College. He became a two-time JC All-American and two-time state runner-up. Ramirez started training in May Thai and mixed-martial arts after college. He has spent the past few years working construction during the day and training at night. Ramirez made his Octagon debut at UFC 65 - Bad Intentions in a losing effort against James Irvin. Sick Dog Ramirez is currently training at Big Bear.
