Up Coming Next Generation Fighter ~ Tateki Matsuda
Known as “The Technician” Tateki Matsuda earned “Knock Out of the Night” honors at Global Fight League 4: Unified, hitting opponent Aguileno Brando with a devastating overhand right, knocking him to the ground in the first round last Sept 09 19. Matsuda who was born in Tokyo, Japan has become a very well rounded fighter with fierce strikes and kicks as well as a highly technical ground game even though his Jiujitsu rank is blue belt, his No-Gi grappling and Muay Thai experience helped him defeat a Black belt Brazilian in his second MMA fight in Brazil. Having 4 pro fights with 2 knock out wins under his belt Matsuda trains and teaches out of Somerville, MA at the famous Sityodtong camp with well known UFC coach and official conservator of the art of Muay Thai boxing in the United States, Kru Mark DellaGrotte. Being ambassador, Tateki has represented the Sityodtong USA Camp for the last two summers in 2006 & 2007 both with a 3 month stay at Sityodtong in Pattaya City, Thailand where he trained under master trainer Kru Toy. He has had 8 fights in Thailand as a professional and makes a significant contribution to Sityodtong USA Camp in Boston by sharing his experience in Thailand with new practitioners of the sport throughout the year as well as cornering fights with Mark Dellagrotte for the likes of fighters such as Jimmy Davidson to his win in the AFO Thanksgiving Massacre. As an up-coming next generation fighter coming out of the Sityodtong camp, Matsuda is expected to fight for GFL Feather weight title this January 22, 2010 in the Global Fight League 5 against opponent Rodrigo Almieda from Brazil who is ranked 9th.
