Fighter Bio
Career
Marcus “Wrecking Ball” Hicks is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as well as a professional boxer and mixed martial artist. He is currently undefeated in MMA and is fighting for the WEC. His fighting style can best be described as the ‘pivotal meeting place of stand-up and ground fighting.’ He is extremely well versed on the ground, but has no qualms about remaining standing. Marcus feels the best offense is always a good defense and he will continue putting pressure on his opponent, not allowing him time to mount an offense. Simply put, be aggressive, dictate the pace of the match by putting your opponent where you want him, and continue to drive him until you defeat him or he submits. The core of his training entails mental conditioning, strength and cardio training, perfecting techniques, proper nutrition, and plenty of rest.
Marcus Hicks finally made his dream come true by opening the doors to his academy in 2007. Marcus Hicks personally teaches the classes at the academy, including the adult and children's class. Hicks MMA and Jiu-Jitsu welcomes individuals of all levels from beginner to advanced, all age groups, both men and women.
