Rob Mondloch Began wrestling his freshman year of high school, he began there just to fill a weight class but ended up having one of the top ten best records in his high school's history.
He began wrestling at 103lbs for the oconto falls panther wrestling team. his freshman year was a learning expierience he went 21-18 tried freestyle wrestling after the season won two tournements and qualified for the freestyle nationals tournement.
He came back his sophmore year went 32-6 a disslocated hip in the sectional semi finals ended his year the disslocation happened in the first period he fought through it and won the match advanced to the finals and had to sit out, qualified for state made the trip down there and just couldnt compete
Eager to get back in there rob came into the season highly ranked his junior year injuries kept him out of the begining of the year he qualified for state again and ended up meeting brian barbiaux in the state finals barbiaux and mondloch had squared of the two prior weeks in the regional and sectional finals barbiaux taking both meeting by the scores of 12-4, and 3-6 mondlch trounced through to the finals winning matches 6-4, a pin in 1:34, and a 9-5 victory. Barbiaux won the state championship 4-8 sealing the victory with a late reversal. he ended the season 30-6
His senior year rob was ranked in the top 15 in the senior polls by wrestling usa magazine and ranked number one in his weight class in his division by the crossface magazine in wisconsin. Again qualifying for state rob was a favorite to win the championship he had won the sectional tournement the week before and had a bye in the first round of the state tournement he won the second round matche by pin fall in 3:52 almost pinned by a chest crusher by chris wiegman in the first period rob battled off his back held out the first period came into the second down 5-2 and pinned his opponent, he lost in the semi's in double overtime and then dropped the third place match 5-4. he ended the season 34-6
Rob was a 3x state qualifier a 2x state place winner (2nd, and 4th) he was a 2x conference champ, and won his sectional his senior year. and ended with a 117-36 record not bad for a guy who was there to just fill a weight class.
Rob Started MMA in July of 07 had his first fight in Auust against a highly expierenced opponent in jose rodriguez he lost by choke in the first round.
Rob then won two fight in a row Matt Koch (145) by tko and Matt Brown (135) unanimous dec.
He then lost to greg elliot (135) guilotine choke in the first, And then won two more in a row at 135 keo manyvong 1st round rear naked choke and jordan denny unanimous decision. with an ammy record of 4-2 rob turned pro and fought billly jochim at 135 and lost by first round armbar.
Rob trains 5-6 days a week at the haus of combat under time nixon and jesse veium, he also takes trips down toadrian serrano's combat sports gym on sundays for a little cross training.
Rob is fighting aug. 2nd against jay gould at 125
