Fighter Bio
Career
Tim was born in a little town called Eastbrook, Maine, and attended school there until 8th grade. He played basketball during school and joined a local karate school in Ellsworth, ME. When he got into high school he took up wrestling.
Tim had a tough childhood, his mother was a heavy drinker so that made Tim spend a lot of time with his grandmother. His father was always working as a woodcutter or fisherman, so he was gone all the time. When Tim got out of high school, he worked two jobs and used the money to buy a motorcycle. He still rides to this day. He was working on his own, painting houses and hanging sheetrock, when he took up grappling and boxing. About a year went by and he started playing semi-pro football. When his first grappling tournament came about, he took first place in his division and a passion was born. He was put on a mailing list and the opportunity came about to do an NHB fight in Rhode Island. So he paid the $50 entry fee, knocked out his opponent in 17 seconds, and found a new calling.
As months went by, Tim couldn't stop thinking about fighting. He was a UFC fan from the beginning and loved to watch as many fights as possible. When the UFC came to Atlantic City, Tim along with some of his close friends, decided to make the 11-hour drive to the show. They got there early and decided to check out the arena. As they walked in, Kevin Randelman was in the cage, Tito Ortiz was running around and the Miletich camp was hanging out. Tim approached Pat Miletich and Pat stood up and said, "You're a big son of a bitch, do you fight?" Tim said, "A little bit, but I have a hard time finding training partners and getting fights." Pat said, "Come to Iowa." So, Tim went back home and booked a plane ticket. After spending two weeks in Iowa getting his butt kicked (he loved it), Pat said to him, "You're a pretty hard worker, you should think about moving here." Tim said, "That's all I was waiting for," went back to Maine, sold everything he owned and moved to Iowa in 2000.
