Career
Roger Huerta (May 20, 1983 in Austin, Texas), nicknamed "El Matador", is a Hispanic-American mixed martial artist. He competes in the lightweight division of the UFC.
Huerta holds a professional fight record of 19 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw.[1] His style is that of a ground-and-pound wrestler. He has won all three of his fights in the UFC, the first at UFC 63 against Jason Dent. In Huerta's second UFC fight at UFC 67 he defeated John Halverson by technical knockout due to strikes from a back mount at :19 of the first round. Huerta was originally slated to make his UFC debut against Hermes Franca at UFC 61, but Huerta withdrew from that fight citing injury.
Huerta is 5 ft 9 in and weighs 155 pounds (70 kg). He currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. where he attends Augsburg College.
In his most recent professional bout Huerta defeated Leonard Garcia at UFC 69.
