The most  self-important soccer nation seems to be in proper form for a first round exit

I think they will at least draw with Costa Rica

TMLT in 3,2,1 to talk about the 1966 World Cup

I'll be happy if we get through the group stages. Anything after that is a bonus. Phone Post 3.0

They may have the hardest division to advance in.

Uruguay and Italy?

Fuck that.

Italy usually starts off slow so I could see a draw there.

Yah, that's a nasty group, though Uruguay isn't nearly as strong if Suarez doesn't play

England and US may both be done in group stage

Seems way less weak teams this year.

Though Arg gets a walk through with all the conflict countries

I think they Gave Brazil and Argentina fairly easy groups to ensure they do alright.

Gotti isn't wrong.  The individual talent on teh team is better than England has had in years.  Hodgson just isn't creative or modern enough to utilize it properly

When I was in Prague, some of the loudest, most annoying and ignorant fucks I ran into were English football fans.

England's 2014 squad is much better than the 2010 squad

2010

GK: David James, Robert Green, Joe Hart

DF: Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, John Terry, Stephen Warnock, Matthew Upson, Jamie Carragher, Ledley King

MF: Steven Gerrard (C), Aaron Lennon, Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry, James Milner, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Michael Carrick

FW: Peter Crouch, Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey

2014:

GK: Joe Hart, Ben Foster, Fraser Forster

DF: Glen Johnson, Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw

MF: Steven Gerrard (C), Jack Wilshere, Frank Lampard, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley

FW: Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Rickie Lambert

Only thing you could say is maybe better is the defense. No Terry and guys like Smalling are there in place for him. Keeper, Midfield and Forward options are better though and England have multiple highly rated young players in that squad so they have their future already ready to make an impact
