Katsumoto - don't know too much about EDC knives (i've heard of Spyderco), but wow @ $180+! are they made of adamantium?

are there any specific applications you guys use it for (other than just basic cutting and occasionally stabbing in a knife fight)?

I'm a knife abuser, I carry a SOG Mini Trident:

http://www.amazon.com/SOG-Specialty-Knives-Part-Serrated-3-15-Inch/dp/B004WN598O/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1393115130&sr=8-5&keywords=SOG+trident

I gotta have the partial seration, makes it way more versatile and I don't have to keep the blade as sharp at all times. I also use it for prying and sometimes for make shift hammering. I'm considering grinding the point down to use it as a flat tip screwdriver.

Things I don't like about this knife. I pocket carry so the clip just got in the way and I removed it. Also The safety would seem to turn itself on often, so I disabled it.

Mikusoraiden - That 940 is the one I have my eyes on. I almost got it for Christmas because I had $90 in gift cards for Sportsmen Warehouse and I was gonna chip in the difference. Instead I stuck to my budget and got a mini grip to go with my 3550 auto I already had.

I love my grip but damn that 940 seems almost perfect.

I tried out the Spyderco Manix 2 but the lock release was super stiff and I had to use two hands to slide it down. Just didn't seem smooth, did the store have a lemon or are they all that stiff? Phone Post 3.0
The Manix 2 is awesome. Built like a tank. I own one in all black. It might be a little too big/heavy/aggressive for some. Phone Post 3.0
I've been carrying the Manix 2 for a couple months now and love it.

I also rotate a ZT 0350 and a Microtech Scarab. So many cool knives out there. Just hold off buying one until you find the right one. Phone Post 3.0

I EDC a Zero Tolerance 200ST. Very happy with it.

I used to EDC a Cold Steel Recon tanto with the Axis lock...some people don't like Cold Steel but dollar for dollar that knife was hard to beat.

These are both big knives though, and may not be what everyone wants.

There are better knives than the 940.

There are cheaper knives than the 940.

But almost any review you see on youtube for edc knives, two knives are always mentioned for comparison.

The Delica and the 940. Phone Post 3.0

I'm poor so I have a hard time justifying spending the money on a sebenza but damn do I want one.

The harder task is trying to make non-knife people understand lol. And I get it, I don't hold that against them but I always tell people that no man (or woman) should not own at least one knife.

I gave my wife my Leek a couple years ago to just keep in her purse. I could've given her a cheaper, shittier knife but I wanted her to have something decent. She lost it in less than a month. Still kinda bitter about that. Phone Post 3.0

Yep. I carry this as well and it is holding up great after 2 years or so. I love how precise the blade is for the types of tasks that I use an EDC blade for. Phone Post 3.0

When I get to the point where I can sharpen a knife and not fuck it up too bad with a stone, I will buy a Sebenza.  I do ok with a stone.  But its not pretty, lol.

Yeah I seriously need to up my sharpening game... its pretty pathetic right now. Phone Post 3.0

been carrying this for a few months and use it a fuck ton at work when I set my carpenters knife down somewhere and don't want to grab it.

Never really been into non traditional blade styles but I rather like this one.

Good choice on the 25. Hard to find a better machinemade knife. Enjoy it.

many anchovies - i'm in the market for a new folding knife. i lost my benchmade 910 stryker in my recent move. ideally i'd like another one but they don't make them anymore.

if i could find a benchmade 912-71, i'd buy it in a heartbeat, but they only made 100 of them and i don't know where to look for one.

i was thinking about the spyderco pacific salt but i'm not thrilled about it.

any recommendations?

I have one and its my least favorite knife... it like brand new because i never carried it

i bought in the mid/late 90's...

mma male me.. i might be persuaded to part with it.

black blade, drop point tonto combo edge (half serrated)

benchmade stryker (elishewitz)

wow, sreiter...that's the exact configuration i had, minus the black blade.

i ordered the sebenza 25 last night, but if for some reason i don't like it or if i still have an itch for the stryker, i'll def let you know.
