We started a UG Blog iPad app a while back, and at a cost of many, many thousands of dollars, built it to beta. Then some tremendous new technology came along and we started again, from scratch.
The term to “start from scratch” comes from bare knuckle boxing – two lines were scratched on the ground, and if you were knocked down, you had up to one minute to stand back up to the line, and start again.
That is how it felt. We built the thing, and what was new was so much more badass, it knocked us down, and we started again, bleeding green.
Today it is done; here’s the crazy thing, it is free.
PS: Guys, if a lot of people download it, and tell their friends, and it gets good ratings, then I can justify starting the iPad UnderGround Forum app (this one is Blog only). It is critically important to build momentum to get on Apple’s radar, so I would be grateful to anyone who downloads, rates, etc TODAY.
If anyone is upset that there is no UG forum functionality on the app, please do not let that color your judgement of the UG Blog app, which is free (and very badass). Complaints that the UG Blog app doesn’t have a forum, will pretty much ensure that the Forum app gets started closer to never than tomorrow. By contrast, a huge burst of positivity around the Blog app means we can get the Forum app development underway.
