UFC 2 was on 11 March 1994. 16 Man Tournament, no rounds, no gloves, no weight classes, two rules. It was a crazy night with chaos all around. It was the debut of Big John McCarthy. It was a life changing event for a 38 year old recluse from Northern Minnesota.

Respectfully:

Fred

I watched that on vhs in the tv room during basic training. I want to say it was around November of 1994. I was the coolest thing I’d ever seen.

Stepping into the octagon took much bigger balls back then compared to today, and that's saying a lot.  Nothing but respect for Master Ettish.

You couldn't have been that much of a recluse. You got out enough to earn your black belt!

Respect, Fred!

Dang time passes fast.

Remember watching the show with a group of friends.

These events helped bring together a rag tag group of friends, a real motel mixed crew.

Never paid attention or caught on that you were 38 in the Octagon.
