Yes, very true, they have been miserable for the team sport athletes, actors, writers. . .
I'm sure all of those people wish they would just disappear--so much so, that they NEVER leave them--yet are freely able too.
Dana's comment is also quite amusing--the MLBPA, NFLPA, NHLPA, SAG, and others do not negotiate individual contracts on behalf of the athlete, actor, etc. Dana knows this. . .
There's a reason why employees don't unionize in right-to-work states. The same reason those states and those industries are doing so much better through the recession than in other states. This is why big-government union thugs want to force card-check on people. So they can intimidate employees who don't cooperate. If unions were so wonderful, they wouldn't need corrupt and disgusting tools like that. They would allow people a secret ballot.
And, there is no comparison between team sports and MMA. Tennis players have no union. Neither do golfers. Boxers do, and their sport is dead as a result. And, SAG? Seriously? Talk about apples and oranges. Actors in California are unionized because everything in the Peoples' Republic of California is unionized. That's why the state is circling the toilet bowl. And that's why Hollywood doesn't even make movies anymore. They outsource production to right-to-work states or to Canada to dodge the taxes and regulations and red tape. Pitiful. Michael Moore makes his shit documentaries condemning capitalism and he doesn't even use union labor to do it. Embarrassing.
Zuffa is doing just fine without letting the corrupt thugs get their foot in the door and wreck everything like they did for Boxing.
