But did Dana not anticipate that the most masculinized, highest muscle mass and testosterone laden women would be the ones to rise to the top, which happens in so many women's sports? (i.e. Venus and Serena Williams in tennis, etc. etc.). These women such as Cyborg, Amanda Nunes, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Jessica Andrade, Claudia Gadelha, and the new generation like Kayla Harrison, may be phenomenal fighters but they aren't winning any beauty pageants any time soon. In fact, if we put aside the very questionable taste of those on the UG/OG, the normal heterosexual male would probably rate them far under average attraction-wise. This is fine, but as far as sponsorship opportunities and fan interest and promotion, attractiveness sells.
One only need look at Dana's disparaging comments and almost anger about the lack of attractiveness of Cyborg to see that looks matter to him, one of the best promoters ever. But...what did he expect?
