UnderGround Forums Did Dana get honey trapped by Ronda RE: WMMA?

We all know that Dana makes decisions with his...emotions, and that he was enamored with Ronda and basically created a whole division for her.

But did Dana not anticipate that the most masculinized, highest muscle mass and testosterone laden women would be the ones to rise to the top, which happens in so many women's sports? (i.e. Venus and Serena Williams in tennis, etc. etc.). These women such as Cyborg, Amanda Nunes, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Jessica Andrade, Claudia Gadelha, and the new generation like Kayla Harrison, may be phenomenal fighters but they aren't winning any beauty pageants any time soon. In fact, if we put aside the very questionable taste of those on the UG/OG, the normal heterosexual male would probably rate them far under average attraction-wise. This is fine, but as far as sponsorship opportunities and fan interest and promotion, attractiveness sells.

One only need look at Dana's disparaging comments and almost anger about the lack of attractiveness of Cyborg to see that looks matter to him, one of the best promoters ever. But...what did he expect?

Why do idiots still think Dana is the decision maker in a company he doesn't own?

He is a promoter/demoter. That's it.

Terribly! Look at the subpar numbers UFC 225 did with 2 competive title matches. If only it wasn’t headlined by women. UFC 222 did better with just one uncompetitive title match with the champion crushing a can. Nobody wants to see women fight.

He made his money. He saw women’s fighting had a slight chance at making money and recognized Rhonda as a star. Women’s fight aren’t “affecting” PPV ratings for the most part unless you make them headliners. The rule should be no women being the main event period. Sucks to say. But if it’s not Rhonda vs Cyborg, or Gina Vs Cyborg/ Rhonda, then no one cares . Rose will build her popularity up after time and she will be a draw. Until then , good luck .

I'm not sure about that Rose being a draw thing. She comes off as a weirdo to most fans and has managed to make herself look and act as unattractive as possible. Again, I'm speaking from how I think most fans view her, not my personal opinion.

I bet hes thinking of a way to get rid of the female division but he cant without getting a massive backlash from the SJW.

Or he could just rename Invicta to WUFC and move all the women fights there.

Don't let Dana and his ego let him hear you said that. AS far as he is conerned he is the center of the MMA world.

This is the move. Then spin it with “these women are so mean and scrappy that we decided it would be best to showcase them on a card by themselves”

THEN they bury it on axs tv and ultimately sell the whole thing to rich Japanese business men who will somehow turn it into porn after the ratings die

Let’s be honest, theses PPVs are weak as piss regardless of wether they involve a couple of women fights. Scratch them and replace them with anyone below 155lbs or an unknown LHW...will it really make a difference?
