He was a decent fighter and seemed like a good dude, but he didn't have much success in the UFC, going 1-2 before moving back to the smaller shows where he didn't fair much better for the rest of his career. Here is a guy who should have been forgotten, but he has been immortalized by having this technique named after him. One that he didn't invent. It was how he achieved his lone UFC win.

Does anyone know how Jason feels about having his name pop up every time this weird choke does? That's way cooler than a restaurant naming a sandwich after you.

Tony DeSouza is man behind the Peruvian Neck Tie.

Some men just become synonymous for certain techniques. An honor, really.

Bullet in the Butt - Kind of a shitty OP.

How so? I'm not putting the guy down. I simply find it rather noteworthy that I guy who, let's face it, would only barely have been a footnote in the history of MMA has this technique named after him that people still talk about over ten years after he was last in the UFC.

No need to take offense.

Yeah, the Darce choke and the kimura come to mind. Like I said, it's cooler than having a sandwich named after you.

He's on twitter, I don't remember why I looked him up but it was a couple of months ago and it looked like he trained kids but probably isn't too involved with the sport anymore

von flue invented the choke, stop trying to discredit the guy because fucking OSP likes to use von flue's choke.

That group pic in front of the ring, the only ones I can't identify are the skinny kid in the back row on the left and the dude in the tshirt. Is it Karo Parisyan in the shirt?

It's better than hearing crack-head control and wondering if it's named after you. At least he knows...

Yeah, that's Egan Inoue.

And I just realized white tshirt guy is Scott Adams. Went 1-0 in the UFC and retired.

Jason & I go back to 99 when he won a tournament in the IFC at the Jackson Rancheria Casino. He is a member here, and I`m surprised that he hasn`t posted in this thread.I`ll try & find an old pic of us back in 2003 at WEC.

Found it.
