superCalo - great matchup.

What is great about this matchup? Grove has looked terrible lately, and Maia is a top 10 MW.

Theres a ton of guys that deserve this fight more then Grove

Gerald Harris and Munoz come to mind

wow, this is an intriguing match up...

1. it's a pretty cool fight

2. it makes no sense - step down for maia and big step up for grove.

3. seems like do or die for grove.

grove isn't a terrible grappler, maia won't be able to just submit him that easily.

This is a good matchup for Grove.  His Achilles heel is his awful chin, but even Kendall can take a flush shot from Maia.  It should be an exciting fight.

I think it's a good match-up personally. You can't just count Grove out, he's no chump on the ground and his stand-up is better than Maia's. Kendall always brings it too, so it's gonna be a good fight.

Guys, the UFC is choping at the bit to get rid of Kendall Grove. He bad mouthed SpikeTV and TUF show BIG TIME in a public radio interview a couple months ago. The UFC was pissed and pulled him from the SpikeTV "free show" when he fought Goran.

I think they see this as a sure way he will lose and then bye...bye.

What's the UFC supposed to do with Demian Maia at this point? You guys keep saying step down, but what's the point of booking Maia against a top contender

If Maia keeps beating contenders or prospects, the UFC is probably in no hurry to book Silva vs. Maia II.

Maia is stuck in a division, where he will never receive another title shot as long as Anderson is champ. Simple solution, Maia cuts down to 170 and stops holding his career back. The guy has the talent to be future champion. He cuts virtually no weight. I'd love to see GSP try to sit in Maia's guard for 5 rounds, it won't happen.
