Gangster. I was watching LFA on Friday, and after Nakishima repeatedly kicked Krantz in the jewels, Pat Miletich showed why he is the O.G. He said he used to take his metal cup, and screw in a sheet metal screw, then back it out.  This creates a hole, which leaves a ridge around the hole. After making multiple holes, the cup effectively becomes a cheese grater that shreds opponent's shins. He said he used the cup for all his fights. Any fighters here heard of this, or any other hacks like this?

Never heard of it. Not surprised I'm hearing it from militech. Pat militech IS mixed martial arts, does anybody possibly not like that guy?

Seems like you're risking cutting up your shorts.

I'd risk the shin damage before a torn scrote.

Ken Shamrock said that he wore a steel cup,and that`s what saved him against Severn`s uppercut to the nuts at UFC 6.

Interesting, but the steel cup I had was wrapped in leather. Not sure how that would have worked, you'd at least still have fabric covering it since it's not on the outside of your shorts. Sometimes Pat has some different stories.

Are there rules about this stuff?

Like, could I run through some screws from the inside so that the points are facing out?  Seems like an easy way to even out the damage at least.

When Pat was still fighting lots of people on the UG talked shit on him saying he was boring etc. I always liked the guy. He's great for the sport.

Years ago, a lady I knew from Iowa said Pat was fighting chicks off with a stick in Iowa. Like college chicks, townies, hot and not so hot all wanted to get a shot at the champ. Even later in his coaching years.

That unsubstantiated rumor has made me a bigger fan of his than any fight could.

Miletich was the first fighter that had I noticed having really tight crisp boxing back in the day too. Dude was very skilled.

I would pay good money for a Pat Miletich autobiography.

There's a very good biography of Pat called 'Blood in the Cage.' I highly recommend it.

Pat was ahead of his time! Well rounded and vicious! Croatian sensation! He beats Tyrone Wimpy easily!
