Reinhardt fails eye exam, out vs Zhang at WEC 51

Jason Reinhardt (20-1) is out of the game days before his confrontation with Chinese fighter Tie Quan “The Mongolian Wolf” Zhang (16-0) at WEC 51.

Inside sources have informed FiveOuncesOfPain.com that Reinhardt is out because he did not pass a standard pre-fight eye exam.

The bout, scheduled for September, 30th 2010 at The 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Co., will now feature “The Mongolian Wolf” taking on Pablo Garza.

Reinhardt has been training in Iowa with long time teammate and training partner Spencer “The King” Fisher, and the 40-year-old veteran is officially off the preliminary card for the evening.

I just talked to my manager who helps promote Jason's Courage Fighting Championship promotion and the reason Jason didn't pass is because the state of Colorado won't let him fight with contacts.

Looking at the records of Jason opponents it`s probably a good thing.

His record is padded as much as one can be.

Colorado is one of the states which does not allow fighters to compete wearing contact lenses, and Reinhardt said athletic commission officials in Colorado told him his uncorrected vision was not good enough to allow him to compete against Chinese fighter Tie Quan "The Mongolian Wolf" Zhan.

"Everything was falling into place perfectly," said Justin Reinhardt. "Jason was in perfect shape. We've been out in Park City (Utah) training at altitude and he was tearing it up – I couldn't stay with him up the hills."

According to his brother, Reinhardt was "in the best shape I've ever seen him."

"He was so ready for this fight, he was just devastated," Reinhardt said. "He's okay now, so we're heading to Springfield to check out the surgery and we'll go from there."

ok quick question. How well does your vision have to be. For example I cant drive without my glasses on but I can do almost everything else sport wise my entire life. Would they fail me for choosing not to wear contacts?

its not like fighters are throwing baseballs at each others heads.

Reinhardt's is pretty bad. He didn't even see he was fighting a guy with a winning record.
