UnderGround Forums Should I be mad at myself or sad for UFC

I used to watch every event. I or friends would get together and watch every UFC every single month paying the $70 for HD... we did this for maybe 7 years. I miiiiight watch one event a month. If I skip an event... I just don’t care. I love MMA, I still watch all the MMA news shows and podcasts. But I just can’t get excited for events anymore. It’s been like this for awhile. Is it me?

UFC became a shit product once they let all of this money fight nonsense take over.

I still watch every event - I’m watching a bit of the nba now but will switch over once main card starts. Heck, I watched the 3 most recent eps of TUF last night too!

things are still great if you’re an MMA fan.

And I can’t wait for 225! Being an Aussie I might be more excited than others though.

This.

Also, because there’s an event almost every week it’s lost some of the spectacle feel. It’s just a regularly occurring sporting event now but, if you love the game, fights are fights

Bet the fights. You’ll get plenty interested in them then.

After I stopped drinking my enthusiasm has waned slightly. Now I tend to just watch the fights I'm interested in, which isn't just mainly the main card actually, because for instance they had Zabit on fight pass prelims etc.

I still watch all of the fights,  it I do wind up not paying as much attention. Might just be the legal marijuana though.

Lost me also.

Watched everything I could get my hands on from ufc 26 onwards, not surely completely where they lost me tbh.

As sad as it sounds It may have been with the roster losing its personality.

The sport and product moved on and it seems I am incapable of doing so.

where the fights entertaining? sure

but far far far from as entertaining as it could be if we had fighters we knew about.

Fighters who created exciting stylistic match ups for there opponents

Maia just had 2 boring fights against wrestlers and lost. Why put him against another one

Almost every casual fan I know all but stopped watching back around 2011 or 2012.

We used to never miss events, with people driving up to 3.5 hours to get together for a UFC.

I still watch most, although I didn't watch tonight.  I just didn't care about a single fight or fighter on that card.

I just like to watch good fights, so name value isn’t everything for me.

That said, they’ve hurt it for me by trying to present it like it’s a goddamned football game.  That silly Fox Sports NFL music, fight stats, rankings.  That shit is straight cringeworthy, and there’s no explaining that away for me.

I DVR all of it (FX repeatedly fucks up though). They fucked up start time last night,NASCAR ran over. In the world of DVRs, Amazing that they cant get shit right. Before anyone says "just tape it longer", that's not the answer. Hockey was on, basketball was on, and you can only DVR so many at once.

Chick fights get instant FF. Enjoyed the Lee fight though.

Last nights event sucked pretty bad. I was impressed with the tall light heavyweight from California tho. He's somebody to watch. Sorry, I forgot his name already.

Buddies and I used to camp out at bww at like 5 o’clock to get a table, or we’d have 10 people over one of our houses and everyone would bring something. Now nobody gives a shit and I’ll miss events and the ones I see I end up watching by myself at my house if I have nothing else going on.

Last night wasn't a bad start though. Prelims were above average.

Not remotely a card worth paying for though.
