UnderGround Forums Teddy Atlas says Conor might break the rules

Former boxing coach and now analyst Teddy Atlas says Conor is likely to get schooled on the feet by Floyd so there's a chance McGregor will do something desperate.

"He (McGregor) would come in there, he would break the rules. He would pin (Mayweather) and then he would proclaim himself 'the King of the Ring.' Even though he might lose the purse money, his brand would go through the roof," Atlas told ESPN. "And you know what? He's a promotional genius, just like Floyd is, just like Muhammad Ali was. Nobody's thinking about that part of it. Floyd, before he puts his John Hancock on a contract, he better think about that part of it."

Nonsense...Conor wants money, he isn't going to risk losing any of it.

If an incident like that does happen it will likely polarize fans even more.

Boxing purists will call Conor despicable and say his actions prove that MMA is "barbaric."

Many MMA fans will say, "Fuckin' rights! If that were a 'real fight' Conor would whup Floyd's ass and he just let the world know it."

I would love to see Conor throw a spinning back fist. Its illegal in boxing but still considered using his hands

Is it illegal for Conor to threaten with a kick? Not actually attempt to kick but lift his leg off the ground a bit to draw attention to his legs.

He'd probably get brought up on assault charges and lose a lot of money in a civil suit.

Conor would get his licence revoked and suspended big time.

He'd probably end up losing money if he did something so stupid.

Yes.

Its why a Superman punch is illegal.

Yes. Technically you can't Superman punch since you can't kick so there's no risk but it's the rule of your feet must remain on ground.

Lol Conor wouldn't do that. If he loses, he'll find a way to spin the defeat and make you believe it's a win by talking.

What if a boxer is wobbled and backstepping and throws a chuck liddell punch while one foot is off the ground?

Stupid.

If Connor tries any MMA shit, like Teddy said, he won't get paid. I'm sure that will be the first line of the bout agreement. Why take the fight then? To prove he could beat Floyd in an actual fight? Everyone knows he can. He's boxing Floyd to get fucking paid.

He's not going to fuck that up to prove a point.

Teddy is flat out wrong, hes not going in there to "pin" Mayweather. But if Conor is getting smoked without landing after one round, I see no reason why he wouldnt do a takedown just to rattle Floyd and try to a) show everyone any time he wants he can end floyds life, and b) maybe floyd starts instinctively thinking about the td and it opens him up.

I'd love to see him head kick Floyd and lose due to Floyd being hauled out on a stretcher. That being said, he'd be suspended for years and lose a big part of his purse. I don't think they'd go after PPV points so maybe it's worth it, lol.

if or any time theres a clinch just sweep Floyd to the floor.. make him less likely to want to close the distance.. Conor will have reach advantage
