If this isn't an eye opener for ever fighter, I don't know what is. This could happen to anyone at any given time in the cage/ring. This should scare every fight promoter out there.

This is why AJ left, this is why Conor is done after Mayweather fight. It's why a lot of fighters will begin to retire mid 30's

RIP Hague

Very sad. He should have never been in there. Did not look prepared and was very mismatched. What an unfortunate incident I am praying for his family

Fuck that sucks he seems like a nice guy. So weird this is so much more prevalent in boxing must be the repetitive soft blows

Apparently knocked out 7 times since Aug 2015, and knocked down multiple times in the last fight. Tim Hague was a warrior, but there needs to be something to prevent guys like this from fighting without a bigger break. Really unfortunate, and wish only the best for his family. Bad situation and his opponent will likely take this extremely hard.

It is the constant blows that will end up making it easier for brain bleed for sure.

Wow this is very sad. OP is spot on. And to think, Nevada is going to allow a 49-0 multi time world champion against a complete newb making his pro debut. The only saving grace here is Mayweather understands this is a glorified exhibition and is not likely to try to hurt McGregor too badly. None the less, horrible mismatches happen and these are the types of things that can happen as a result.

Wow. I remember his brother calling in to The Jason Ellis Show years back. Seem like a good group of people. Terrible news.

Boxing is way More traumatic to the brain than mma and it's not even close .

fucking sucks.  I wouldn't be surprised if 100 percent of boxers don't have some evidence of CTE

Saw Tim fight live at UFC 98. When he he got the TKO over Pat Berry a Canadian behind me went nuts and spilled beer over all of us. Tim afterwards came to our section still in his cage gear and talked to some people he knew. Seemed like a genuine and good guy. So sad to hear this. RIP.

I work in health care and have seen people make some pretty good recoveries to a more normal life than "braindead" - there is always hope - this doesn't mean it is the end

Holy crap, regulation is about money, not safety. Wake the fuck up ppl...

Tim is responsible for his own concussions, no one else. It's tragic what happened, but men should be allowed to make their own decisions about their life and health.....

Tim is a tough mf'er, he went in their with the same intention as any other boxer: "I'm going to knock this dude the fuck out!"

People are acting as if tim wouldn't have done the same thing to the other guy... There's no victim here, a tragedy, but no victim.

He was a member here and this is tragic. I'm surprised it hasn't happened in the UFC yet but one day it will.  It will cause a lot of controversy when it does and people will want to regulate it more. I'm not sure if Tim had a wife and kids but I almost pray he doesn't. Can't imagine being a family member and watching the fight that hurt him so bad.

Were they actually braindead though? He's clinically dead - only being kept alive by a machine.
