VARIOUS - Seriously watched that Couner-Keuneke vid the other night and laughed so hard I had tears coming out of my eyes. On of my friends leaves me voice mails saying "I sifu called me Van Damme for one reason and my classmates for another" in the voice. I want to know what the two reasons are. We also keep saying Chawnces as a result of that vid.

First, I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I saw the picture of the kid with the Vader mask. I also got a similar look from a kid when I told him that "I'm not a Terminator".
2nd, Wow, did I really say "chawnces"? I'm not even from Nawlins!
Okay, since TTT didn't figure it out (despite the visual clues embedded right there) here's how I got the nickname.
I would like to say it was because of my awesome six-pack...but I never had one of those.(And nope, it wasn't for my funny accent) But, back then, I could take a helluva shot to the gut, and it wouldn't even phase me. Not the solar plexus, mind you, but just a regular gut shot that would knock the wind out of most people. Well, probably not a professional fighter...
This was discovered-to my own surpised- when sparring and Sifu nailed me HARD with an uppercut to the gut. (By that time, I was fairly decent, but that was the one shot I could never block or avoid for some reason).
He seemed a little surprised too, and asked if I was all right. I told him I was fine, and he made a Van Damme remark. From then on, whenever I took a gut shot from anyone, there was a Van Damme remark. Hmmm...now that I think about it, it seems like he really liked to get that shot in in front of new students.
And my classmates usually made a comment when I'd go for a head kick. At that time, I could kick at my height (5'10")without leaning back very far.
So, even if Todd sees this and gets the answer, he still won't know who I am. (though he'll probably claim to), as he was never in class with me. And, while I oddly enjoy viewing the train wreck, I eagerly await the day they take him away. (in a white jacket or handcuffs.Doesn't matter to me) He's pretty much blown getting any more chawnces to prove he's legit.
