Yeah...this is pretty much the worst possible outcome. I almost wish they had just told BJ to sit out this presser. Phone Post 3.0

Yeah wish they would have gave him a special retirement press conference later this week or down the line. Phone Post 3.0

Really sad to see BJ so emotional like that. Imagine being a fighter to the core...a warrior spirit in every sense of the word, and finally realizing you just can't do it anymore. That has to be tough to deal with.

Bj came out in an upright stance on his toes throwing arm punches.
Frankie took him down quite easily for two rounds, and bj had no offense from his back either.
Frankie finished him from half guard after cutting him up with elbows and punches.

Just hard to watch, Frankie should get a bit of credit for his performance and it's obvious bj is done unfortunately.

Hope to see Frankie fight again soon, he took no damage. Phone Post 3.0

It was really tough to watch. BJ himself pretty much answered my question from another thread about him retiring after the Nick or Rory fights, saying he just needed to know if he could still do it or not, and he can't.

When he said that, I gained even more respect than I had already for him. As a man, it's tough to admit when someone is better than you, when you just can't do something you once could with no problem, and BJ did just that.

He will always be remembered as a legendary fighter, in pretty much any weight class you can imagine! And like he said, he was just an ordinary man. So long to a living legend, I came into this sport as a fan late so I didn't get to see BJ in his prime, but that won't change my respect for him.
