What if ... Will You Steal UFC 158 Tonight?

I remember during an event, Mike Goldberg was reading the FBI warning "cannot be redistributed or reproduced without permission". etc. And Joe said "You can't fight the internet man". I believe you could hear the producers all slapping their forehead when he said that.

I might hit the sports bar tonight, or I might stream it. I paid $40 for two tickets when the UFC was in movie theaters (Georges failing to arm-bar Dan Hardy had people going crazy throwing popcorn everywhere, it was cool). I'll buy the PPVs if it's a card I'm excited about. I'll buy tickets to see an event. And I don't like that some degenerate makes money by spamming ads at me on the streaming websites, but I don't really have any moral qualms about watching online.

Let he who has never illegally downloaded throw the first stone. You know Dana and Rogan were there on Napster with everybody else.

Nope. Get it free as part of my job.

But...I'd sooner go to the local casino before buying.

I will be buying the PPV. I imagine it is a tough age to live in when you are trying to build a sport.

What do you think the PPV sales would be at if you added in all the people streaming?

The place I go it's mandatory $15. They don't always enforce it though...

If they want to build the sport, a PPV model is not the way to do it.

Big fights on cable tv is how they can gain new fans, as nobody is going to drop $65 due to a little curiosity.

Hopefully they're doing something a lot more important with their time.

$15 is a robbery imo.

They better charge a buck a beer.

If i go to the bar, its $5 to get in.

I usually spend $20-40 on food/drink depending on if i'm hungry or am willing to spend much.

Who pays $65 to watch the fights alone? Everyone I know gets together and pitches in, and it costs next to nothing.

Not even a consideration here.  It's on TV at 10am.  I guess you pay for the channel, but it's eminently reasonable.

Hong Kong has come a long way in the last decade.  When I first got here, a buddy would ship over events on VHS because I knew of no possible way to see them here.
