Why won't the UFC just broadcast the prelims on Spike, and use it to try and sell some last minute PPV's? If they do end up showing a prelim, those who already watched have a nice piss/smoke/toke break.

Such a great idea. They absolutely would sell more PPV's if every undercard was like last night's. Those fights were the shit! Very very good card.
