Thomas was raised by his mother from the age of 2 until now. Thomas' mother opened a second beauty shop when he reached age five. The beauty shop was located next to a Kung Fu studio she enrolled Thomas in. The studio became like a daycare to Thomas. He stayed there all day studying kung fu learning on a very personal level. At age 16 Thomas moved on to Kenpo, kempo and then while in Houston, TX he was given the golden opportunity to train with best trainers which he eventually received instructor (krue) status. He's also been honored by the World Karate Hall Of Fame and has his own trading card made in his honor. Amateur Kickboxing beckoned and Thomas did not miss the call. He trained to win and win he did building an impressive 8-1 record in amateur fights. He turned pro and built a 10-1 kickboxing (no pads, no headgear, true Muay Thai type fights) record before turning to MMA. It became his new passion. He began training with Joe McDaniels, Sal Solis and Gil Martinez. He built a 6-1 record and fought some top notch major names, out of major league competition.
