You know what? If it shuts the idiots up & makes the go away, then it's worth it, although it sucks that you guys didn't get your $$$. Maybe the mods should implement a ban rule if someone proposes something like this & doesn't follow through. |

"The cans that Fedor has beaten"... ***ARE beyond the record of anyone who has ever fought in mma. His record is 35-3 (or something like that)....and he's beaten virtually all the fighters they put in front of him. Many of whom were top, top fighters at the time. And then there's the who's who of top mma fighters who were all over youtube praising him as the ultimate fighter until he lost to Werdum. OP is clueless. |

MrColdCock -whistleblower - Oh man. What an epic backfire of a thread.I believe Torres and Overeem both made the list as well. $700... That sucks. That's a lot of allowance money right there.Brock75thRanger - 100 dollars paypal'd to anyone who can find 1 fighter who has fought this many cans in his career and considered to be an alltime great, top 5 in his division.yes i guarantee 100 dollars by the end of todayHmmm. Seems that the OP owes, according to his own word, quite a few people $100 here. Oh yeah, definitely Torres has more. Every one of his opponents before at least 2008 were worse "cans" than Randleman was - and Torres is easily "top 5 in his division all-time" as well (since there haven't been too many, or virtually any, other all-time greats at 135). Alistair might reasonably be excluded from the list, though, because even though he certainly has the "cans," he reasonably might not qualify as "an alltime great, top 5 in his division." But what about Sakurai and Miletich? Sakurai has been very reasonably the 3rd greatest, most accomplished WW ever (and the first all-time-great WW in MMA history), and most of his wins were still worse or more "can"-qualifying than Randleman. Miletich is also reasonably top-5 all-time at WW, and almost all of his wins were worse than Randleman as well. So both had more "cans" on their records, by that same Randleman threshold, than Fedor did - while also meeting the other specific criteria set forth in the OP. So with Hughes, Anderson, Nog, Wanderlei, Rampage, Miguel Torres, Sakurai, Miletich (and still counting) - Brock75thRanger seems to owe, according to his own word, at least $800 so far. Team GDP - So I guess he isn't going to pay as he hasn't responded to multiple pm's or posted on this thread.LOL. Strange that he has been so meekly silent and absent from this thread, after creating it himself with such emphatic confidence and bluster in the first place. Where did all his conviction go? |

Many of whom were top, top fighters at the time. Let's not get crazy here. Nog and Crocop are the only guys he's ever fought who were considered possible "bests" at the time he beat them. Arlovski is the only other guy who by the wildest stretch of the imagination could have been considered "top, top", and that's based entirely on his "streak" of beating B-listers like Jake O Brien and Ben Rothwell. |

DarkReflection - The big issue is people are hanging onto this notion of him being "GOAT"...this IS NOT TRUE. "Greatest" doesn't necessarily imply that at all. Ultimately, "GREATEST" and "BETTER than" are two distinct issues anyway, with two potentially separate standards of measure. Otherwise, if they were necessarily one and the same, even Jon Jones is ALREADY arguably the "Greatest Of All Time" at 205, because you might VERY reasonably pick him to straight-up beat EVERY other 205-er, both now and EVER. Thus, it is VERY arguable that there may have "NEVER been" another 205 who was absolutely "BETTER than" Jon Jones. And yet is Jones even credibly included in any "Greatest Of All Time" discussion already? Especially since he has all of ONE top win for his entire career so far. (And you could have even argued that Jones was already "BETTER than" every other 205-er EVER, even BEFORE he got that first top-level win for his career.) Hell, the 2 "greatest" 205-ers of the previous decade were Wanderlei and Chuck - and yet couldn't you VERY reasonably argue that Jones is "BETTER than" both of them, in that Jones would have straight-up beaten them in a fight, as they were, in their primes? Jones is in fact favored to beat Shogun right now, who along with Wanderlei and Chuck is the other eminent "GOAT" candidate at 205 - and Jones is therefore perceived to be "BETTER than" Shogun as well. But so far has Jones accomplished even a minute fraction of what those guys did for their careers - or proven even close to their overall "greatness"? Is Jones already ahead of them as far as "GOAT" goes? Thus, being "BETTER than" does not necessarily equate to "Greater" - since "Greatness" is also used as a measure of accomplishments and significance, and not just who is straight-up "BETTER." Going into the Werdum fight, there was little reasonable dispute that Fedor was the "Greatest" HW ever - so since Werdum proved to be even "BETTER" than the "Greatest Of All Time" - did that then make Werdum the "Greatest Of All Time" in turn? The bottom line is that there is almost always, almost necessarily a significant element of accomplishment factored in, when defining "greatness" - and especially when it comes to the specific term, "Greatest Of All Time." Otherwise, again, do you think Jon Jones - who may already be "BETTER than" every other 205-er EVER (and thus, the absolute "BEST" 205-er ever) - has also already achieved "greatness" to the extent that he is the "Greatest Of All Time" as well? Likewise, whether Fedor is or was "BETTER than" everyone else right now (and at least the current version sure isn't) - he still is VERY reasonably the "GOAT" for MMA based on his prior accomplishments. Based on who he has beaten and how, what those fights meant at the time, the unparalleled length and consistency of his reign (where he was the most continuously undisputed #1 in MMA history) - the total quantity and quality of his absolute dominance (where he beat more top fighters at the time without losing for longer than anyone else, ever) - and thus, for the overall significance and "greatness" of his record-setting career. He was still the #1 fighter of the previous decade (or the "greatest" for that span) - regardless of what he does in this one. And "All Time" means just that - the entirety of the sport's history to this point - not just now. (And not just the more limited version of "All Time" that happens to be your own.) |

Yea hes mad. Good choice picking Anderson as your new angle though, once Brock got beat TimmyB, shogungriffin and Xboxufc kinda look a little silly no? lol. Finally saving up your allowance to borrow moms credit card to get a blue name, and picking Anderson (you're right, probably the goat, one of my favorite fighters as well) to hide behind, you really got your Fedor hate train set up pretty good. To bad everyone knows who you are and thinks you're a clown and you've only had this account 2 weeks. Yea... he mad. |

orcus -Many of whom were top, top fighters at the time.Let's not get crazy here. Who are the absolute "bests" or "top, top" fighters that Anderson has beaten as well? Aside from Sakurai earlier in his career - where Sakurai was the most definitive #1 and single "best" in a division that Anderson has ever beaten - who else was likewise really the "'bests' at the time he beat them" for Anderson? Many, if not most, seem to think that Hendo is the absolute "best" opponent that Anderson has ever beaten. And yet even Hendo had lost his last fight to Rampage AND his last fight at MW to Misaki, and had not won another fight in the division since, before facing Anderson - and was thus hardly the "best" in either weight class, coming off those losses. Forrest was coming off a stoppage loss in his last fight right before facing Anderson as well, and was not considered the "best" either. Aside from Sakurai, Franklin the first time was probably the closest thing to being legitimately on "top, top" of a division that Anderson has ever beaten - and Franklin himself has beaten all of one top-5 fighter for his entire career (Tanner at 185), and had hardly proven himself to be "the best" against the best as well. Was Sonnen also considered the "best" (although Sonnen was actually the highest ranked contender Anderson has ever faced since Franklin, legitimately ranked #2 or #3) - when Sonnen was already notorious for being one of the most chronically, conspicuously submittable fighters ever? Was Vitor really the "best" - even though he has been one of the most notoriously inconsistent fighters ever, who has lost to MOST of the top fighters he has faced in his career? Was Marquardt "the best" when he still hadn't given an impressive performance against a single top MW yet, where his lone top-10 win was an extremely lackluster decision over Salaverry? (And where, much like Vitor, Marquardt has also under-performed in his biggest fights?) So while Anderson has had a legitimately all-time-great run of dominance himself - by that same rigorously straining Fedor standard, who are the "possible 'bests' at the time he beat them" that Anderson has had during his own reign? Which of Anderson's wins have been on that same uppermost level of "bests" that Fedor's wins over Nog 2x and Cro Cop were? (When ultimately, most of Anderson's top contenders weren't even as qualified as "considered possible bests at the time" as much as Arlovski was at the time of the Fedor fight.) |

Franklin is shitty and Belfort lol..how many top fighters has that guy beaten?? Henderson is a HOF so I give Andy that, and Sakurai has some quality wins. Only Henderson could be mentioned with legends like Mirko and Nog. |
