Thiago, I'm quite sure you're aware most fans would just rather you got yourself fighting again instead of having to go through the phases of defending yourself for something you know you cannot escape. This was not an attempt to be better than Brandon on the day, but more so to give yourself the opportunity of a level playing field on the day. Congratulations for making the effort to post this to us, it is hugely appreciated. Good luck in dealing with this. |

I just became a life long Thiago Silva fan. Thank you for being man enough to admit you were wrong. I hope to see more fighters do the same in the future.

Mad respect for owning up to, and apologizing, for his wrong doing. Silva taking it like a man makes me more of a fan.

Was not expecting that candid of a explanation given how most fighters that get popped respond. Much respect for the honesty and hopefully he gets his back issues taken care of.

Smart for Thiago to just say "yep. I did it." It will surely blow over much faster this way because it basically kills the "what if" buzz on the interwebs. Heal up and come back strong Thiago, my family loves watching you fight. |

ThinkMMA - Respect. Most athletes never own up. And why is that? Do they just assume we are fame blinded morons who will believe anything they say b/c they are on tv? I'm really starting to like this guy for having the balls to take the responsibility for screwing up that most of us regular people have to take when it's us making the mistake. |

Fucking PR WIN. I don't know who wrote this statement or who's idea telling the (seemingly) unedited truth was but he/they deserve a raise. |

We are giving him a lot of respect for admitting the truth instead of a bs explanation like most fighters. However, the fact remains that he still cheated so lets not all go sing his praises. |

kanodogg - Honesty is NOT the best policy. Remember Hermes/Sherk? Hermes admitted it like a man and served full suspension, Sherk denies denies denies and gets suspension cut in half. History has shown that if you object to the results/claim it was some mistake in testing you get sentence cut in half. Props to Silva for maning up, but the commission is gonna throw the book at him. You may be right in that sense but I don't think Thiago is looking to get a reduced punishment. I think he's just owning up and moving on. And as crazy as it sounds that a guy is going to get more fans as a result of getting busted for cheating, that's exactly what's going to happen and I'm going to be the first in line to jump on the bandwagon. Where can i get a throat slashing T-shirt? |

Wow. Mad props to Thiago for owning this. None of the cream/clear baseball B.S., none of the tainted Spanish beef cycling B.S., no placing blame on his teachers/preachers/parents, just a man accepting responsibility for his action. |

WTF why is everyone giving Thiago props for coming clean??? this is the statement he used a few weeks ago. “My blood is clean. I haven’t used anything,” Thiago Silva told TATAME after he failed his UFC 125 drug test. Are we to believe his latest statement as well about the back injury a few weeks before the fight as well. I think he just roided to fuck didnt cycle off in time. He looked roided in the cage and any pain killer excuse will not wash with me. |

I can udnerstand his need/want to fight on, it is his means of making money. That said it was against the rules, and I am glad he is ready to accept punishment. |

I respect the guy for coming clean, my roommate loves Thiago and I like watching him fight. I hope he gets the proper punishment he knew what he did and deserves to be punished but he gets credit for taking it like a man. |
