Don't think he was fighting not to lose. Roids are used for a reason.

There was an jnterview at the end of his title reign where he actually said "i dont fight to win, i fight not to lose"

And did you not see the monson fight? That was arguably the worst fight in the history of title fights. And the only time that a red (big John) had to literally call time, stop the fight, and tell the fighters "look, this is a FIGHT. you have to FIGHT".

I think a big question is, what are his plans if that doesn't happen? There are a couple good fights for him outside the UFC that fans would like to see, what is he going to do? I say let him in as a prelim and let him PROVE that he's going to fight to championship level.

There's nothing to lose in this scenario, it doesn't fuck up the UFC nor does it put Tim in a position to be demanding. At the very least it provides another decent competitior to the Heavyweight pool.

Prelims and 1 fight deals. UFC can drop him at any time if he doesn't produce and Tim gets his shot.

No loser there.
