LOL @ you guys thinking that wrestling is gonna get the job done. GSP aint gots no finishing ability, we all agree on that. TDD-wrestlers-blah you means wrestlers like Dan Henderson? Chael? GSP rasslin is great but he doesnt bring a damn thing to the table to threaten Silva. Anderson by fists. |

ChokeEmOut - Not sure why Rashad would perpetuate something as stupid as GSP giving Silva problems. You mean you actually have to ask? Rashad wants to get AS sufficiently mad at him so he will want to fight him! And I'm all for it - anything to get Rashad down to 185.

I think Rashad's got it about right. Consider the opponents that Silva has faced, not one of them would beat GSP, imo. Sonnen, Okami, Bonnar, Belfort, Maia, Griffin, Leites, Cote, Irvin, Marquardt, Leben, Franklin, .. Henderson would put up a helluva scrap, for sure, but I'd say GSP would still take decision. Of course, the same could be said of GSP's record, where I'd say Condit would give Anderson a run for his money as well. To say that GSP would lose definitely to Anderson is foolish. That being said, Condit in the middleweight division.. interesting, very interesting. |

I can see Belfort, Maia, Griffin, Marquadt, Franklin and Hendo all giving GSP fits tbh. Anderson will take GSP via KO |

people are underestimating GSP in this fight, imo. i dount agree with hashad that he "definitely" wins but he can definitely take anderson down, definitely hold him there, definitely deliver damage and avoid submissions. the question is, can he do it for 5 rounds without getting blasted? i doubt that very much but very much want to see it. the size differential is greatly overstated. they are only around 10-12 pounds difference fighting weight in the cage as it is. a 177 lb catch weight will put them at around the same weight. |

GSP will not be able to control the distance against Silva like he has most of his fights. |

spliff - chael had him down 10 seconds into their second fight, even though everyone knew that was his plan. |

BoilerBrawnByBeatdown - lol@people who bring up the 1st Sonnen fight, unless GSP comes in juiced and Anderson comes in injured, that ain't gonna happen. That last part is the salient point, IMO. And it's why I believe you to be completely wrong about GSP's chances. GSP won't risk Silva's power. GPS will set up Silva for a TD. And he'll get it. As a couple of others have mentioned - it's what he can do when he gets there, and will he be able to avoid Silva's striking throughout the fight in order to get the TDs. |

JamieHill - I think Rashad's got it about right. i have to stop you at henderson. i think hendo has the firepower and the wrestling to handle gsp. and by handle i mean drop those BOMBS! |

r_o_y -JamieHill - I think Rashad's got it about right. Yeah, thinking about it.. Hendo vs GSP would be very difficult for Georges, hell, I give Hendo a very big chance against anyone, Spider included. |

Shocking a fighter who has turned down the chance to fight Anderson 3 times now thinks a guy from 2 weight classes lower "definitely" can beat Anderson.....what is he saying about himself? |

Not saying this is going to happen by all means. But how crazy would it be if GSP knocked Anderson Silva out, TKO'd him or submitted him? Could you imagine how insane the UG would fucking get?! Lol

GSP is gonna take him down... so what? I bet anderson does more damage from the bottom than GSP can do from the top. The difference is GSP has to take him down every round and keep him there while Anderson can finish the fight at any time. |

spliff -dabigchet -spliff - this is true, but GSP can't be subbed like chael can. definitely an uphill battle for GSP, and anderson should be favored a little bit more than -160, but still this is a winnable fight for georges, imo. |

Why did Rashad decline to fight Silva @ 205 if his wrestling is so crappy?

GSP hardly has a great record of finishing people from the top so why is he all of a sudden going to finish Anderson? If the fight were to stay standing like vs Condit, GSP is in deep trouble. |

KingofBJJ - What the hell is Rashad "porn start" Evans talking about? Silva has the second best takedown defense in the UFC. sonnen took him down in 6 rounds consecutively. |
