Chris Leben is a Zombie - Can someone remind me of the first fight? Who was winning before the KO?

IIRC rory was up 2 round to 0 on most peoples scorecards.

It was not a KO lol. It was Carlos landing shots that were not being defended by rory (but were not devastating) - there was 7 seconds left in the fight (rory being up 2 rounds -arguable 3)and then, the ref stopped the fight. Rory had gotten cut up pretty good by Carlos with those shots, but the ref, seeing as there was 7 seconds left, could have let those last seconds ride out. In a way, he stole the win away from Rory. It wasn't CLEAR robbery, but when you think of it, Rory could have lasted those last seconds and had been fine, and would have gotten the "W" in a decisive victory.

Ummm, a cut can be devastating to a fight, it can stop everything no matter who is winning. I agree with your post besides that. I'm a Condit fan but there is no denying Rory is champion material & will undoubtedly hold the strap, but it'll be after CC has it imo. You have ignored this user.

The ref stole nothing. The fight is 3 five minute rounds. It doesn't matter what time is on the clock and who won the other rounds. If a fighter is not defending and taking too much damage the fight is over. It makes no difference if there was 4 minutes left or 2 seconds Rory was done and lost the fight. I also remember it taking a while for him to get up after it was over too so he was definitely devastated by the shots.

It's true that the fight was stopped with less than ten seconds left, but Carlos mounted Rory within the first two minutes of the round and was pouring on a beating. By the time the ref stopped it, Rory had been absorbing a beating without any offense or defense in return for more than half the round.

Wouldn't be a win. All three judges had the last round 10-8 for Condit and it would have been a draw. However, the fight was rightfully stopped and Condit was awarded the win. Should have been stopped earlier, Rory wasn't defending for like a minute, his career could have ended there.

Please don't let a good thread be derailed with facts ^^^^^^^^^^
