If you like top riders I would recommend Mitch Clark. He was a national champion at Ohio State and I believe the only champion in NCAA history to tech fall the runner up in the first period. |

This thread will be epic, there was also another thread about why wrestlers are great/tough and there was an awesome post about how it's this constant war against someone as mean and tough as yourself. Anyone got a link?

Guys, I goofed. There are about 4 videos on this page in which I mistakingly embedded their playlists rather than the particular video in each title. You can still scroll through the playlist and locate those videos but it's probably going to be a pain in the ass. I apologize. It won't happen again. |

Kostakio - IMO, if you learn handfighting and stance, it's hard to get taken down. If you do, if you learn the shit out of a granby, no one (or at least it's pretty damn hard) should be able to hold you down. |

i work with youths in my city for free, teaching MT and wrestling, and content like this is invaluable, so thank you. If you've got any 101 stuff to share please do, we are far behind US when it comes to wrestling (these days anyway) and this stuff is really useful. Literally nothing is too basic because with my lot we are isolated and we are starting from scratch. thanks again jj |

Hey John, It might be worth checking out the coaches corner at USA wrestling:
http://www.themat.com/usawrestling.org/curriculum_menu.php If you look at the middle of the page and the menu on the righthand side of the page there is basic curriculum and practice plans for for folkstyle and freestyle. My recollection is that there are videos and suggested games and approaches to practice that can introduce concepts to beginner kids to get them used to leverage, momentum, etc. in ways that are fun and can be done before drilling technique.
