The victory improves Swanson’s record to 10-0 and will likely help elevate him to the UFC to fight in its new 125-pound weight class.

Swanson will join brother Cub Swanson, a rising star in the UFC. Swanson won his last two fights in 6 and 12 seconds. Although this fight was technically longer, it was just as devastating, thanks to his kick. Swanson’s roundhouse kick landed on McMorris, immediately hurting him. From there, Swanson quickly pounced on McMorris, getting on top of him and landing blows. Still hurt from the kick, McMorris couldn’t defend himself and the referee quickly stopped the fight. The partisan fans erupted in jubilation for Swanson’s quick and impressive victory. “I’m an ex-soccer player, it’s my specialty,” Swanson said of his kick. “He left it wide open. It was right under the knee. It’s like chopping someone down. I’ve done it before to people and they’re not talking the next day, or the next week.”
