If there wasn't a flyweight division, people would just shit on the bantamweights. If there was a strawweight division, there'd be love for the flyweights and shit for the strawweights. I think it's human nature to shit on the smalls and that's a bad trait.

I AM A MOFO - I thought it was a great fight and really enjoyed it. Girl I was watching with spent a lot of time mocking their size (she is 5'8). So while I liked the fight, I did also spend a good amount of it listening to a "casual fan" making fun of it. Even said the way Dodson punches looked "cute".

I hope OP is wrong but based on last night I can't say he's completely full of shit myself. Just that the only fans it would cost the UFC/MMA are ones we wouldn't likely miss.

A lot of truth here.

Watching the the fighters walk out was even kind of funny. The 2 least intimidating guys were the ones fight for the WORLD TITLE.

I know that means nothing to us, but trust me, casual people watching kid size men walking out with big ass security are gonna call bullshit, whether they are right or wrong.
You don't watch nfl for people's looks so why do you watch mma for how people look? Phone Post

As much as I love the flyweights I'm not sold on a 115 pound division and am hoping that doesn't happen in the near future. Boxing has several weight classes south of 120 (118, 115, 112, 108, 105) but they're mostly VERY thin on talent. I guess you could make the argument that there would be more depth if you combined all those weight classes into 1, but I'm not 100% sold on this.

Call bullshit on what? They were (rightfully) being presented as the 2 best flyweights in the world. It's not as if the UFC was using camera tricks to make people think they are HWs. Although apparently they were reluctant to use the term flyweight in the promos and stuck to 'world championship', but they did the same with the WEC and the Aldo vs Faber PPV as I think it's just a matter of familiarity.

Rampage drew a lot of viewers.

To a lot of casual/TUF noobs/BWW guys it was "Rampage is fighting on free tv".

Those fans still remember Rampage as the guy who beat Chuck and wore the belt.

You could put Mighty Mouse on a Lesnar card and it would draw but you couldnt say flyweights drew the numbers.

You could, but it wouldn't be true.

If the flyweights drew the viewers, why did the UFC never mention weight in promos and only call it a "title fight"?

It was billed as Rampage Jackson AND a title fight.

It wasn't Flyweights on Fox.

Put them on PPV and it will make Barao-Faber look like UFC 100. Phone Post

Aldo vs Faber was sold as a UFC PPV as WEC wasn't mentioned or on any signage.

That PPV did 175K buys. Phone Post

False. Did 3.77 million viewers, slightly better than Henderson vs Diaz and much better than Shogun vs Vera. Fans seem to have enjoyed that fight and are finally giving them a chance and realizing they are entertaining. I haven't seen a bad flyweight fight yet.

make a TUF season for flyweights and thatll give a lil extra meat to the division, get atleast 1 contender

Im not going anywhere tho when it comes to lighter weight classes. I usually cant watch Heavyweights cause they gas within 3 mins, (unless your Cain or JDS), what im saying is most of the heavyweight fights end up with one gassed fucker and a slightly less gassed fucker who manages to win. Only a few heavyweights can go all 3 rounds regardless of how hard there goin.
On the other hand
Flyweights and other light divisions have WAY more action in one round than what 2 alright heavyweights have all fight, yea theres less chance of a KO, but there gonna go "hard as a mother fucker", they just have almost endless cardio Phone Post

This is true.

I watched the card for the 3 fights prior to the main event. I really have no interest in the little guys fighting.
