Stay Based - Machida says Glover and Kevin Casey give him the hardest trouble in sparring at Black House though? I think he'd do just fine with them two. I can actually see him knocked Gustaffson out as well unlike shogun he throws his shots with more of a snap and much quicker. Imagine Glover landing one of those hard rights shogun did on Gustaffson

I can't see a lot of lhws taking Glovers shots the man is a diesel

"unlike shogun he(glover) throws his shots with more of a snap and much quicker"

If you want a good laugh,

Compare who Glover has stopped with strikes to who Shogun has stopped with strikes

Shogun has knocked out a multitude of much tougher opponents!

Shogun also decimated a PRIME Rampage!

Shogun was hurting him with every strike he was landing too. Shogun finished it in the first round. It was literal manslaughter

Where as Glover was taken to a decision by an over the hill Rampage

Your "opinion" here simply isnt baded in reality

The facts say other wise

Shogun lands and does more damage to tougher opponenents

Shogun has legit put mother fuckers to sleep with his strikes

I havent seen Glover do the kind of damage that Shogun does to opponents

So yeah, you are way off base here!

Shogun is the proven more potent KO striker, and definitely has much quicker hands and better timing

"Imagine Glover landing one of those hard rights shogun did on Gustaffson"

And thats why what you said here ^ doesn't matter

The big shots Shogun's kept landing on Gustafsson at will would have knocked out 98% of the LHW division

Gustafsson showed he has a granite HW caliber chin.

(Gustafsson's chin really saved him against Shogun)

If Glover were landing the same shots on Gustafsson, they would probably be less damaging,

And would be slower and less acurate, then the big shots Shogun was nailing Gustafsson with

As evidenced by the fact Shogun has more KOs and TKOs then Glover.

Shogun has knocked out much tougher fighters then any one Glover has managed to finish with strikes bottom line

Im not a fan of Gustafsson, but after watching his fight with Shogun, and seeing the huge bombs he took again and again (Shogun has deadly power) I just dont SEE ANY LHW being able to finish Gustafsson with strikes

If Gustafsson losses its going to be by decision IMO

Its going to be hard to decision him though,

Because he has such great cardio and point fights when threatened. The Shogun fight being the prime example of that. Gustafsson going for all those point scoring takedowns against Shogun. Even in an attempt to steal the second round from Shogun when Shogun had owned the first half of the second round

Or Gustafsson will be caught with a submission. He improved a lot after the sub loss to Davis but was still almost submitted by Shogun in the first round

Then again, Shogun is a much better grappler then Davis is

I see Gustafsson working on his sub defence even more now though

Gustafsson is going to be a big tough fighter to beat

And I think its going to take a legit HW with HW KO power to put Gustafsson away with strikes

I will tell you what,

The same big shots Shogun was landing on Gustafsson wouls have probably put away Glover!

Are you kidding me?

Shogun was a slugger out there against Gustafsson, no disrespect towards Shogun or anything the man is an elite fighter.

The way Glover boxes and throws his strikes would be more effective against Gus, Glover strikes more in the pocket and times very well. timing beats speed and a knockout punch only takes 6 inches. and thats the way ive been seeing Glover fight/throwing his shots. You cant compare records in MMA imo. Its how they match up against each other

I still haven’t heard from you guys about how Glover would do with wrestlers like Rashad and Davis. I don’t think he has faced a good wrestler yet. At least not wrestlers at UFC level with decent BJJ and striking and overall MMA game.

I think he'd do just fine with a coach and partner like Chuck.. a fight with Bader or Davis would be an interesting match up. I think it'd end up like Mark Hunt vs Chris Tuchscherer... well a little something like that

I really don’t think taking down or out striking unmotivated Rampage proved very much in terms of striking or wrestling. It was a good fight to introduce him to casual fans, sure. But that’s about it. We have yet to see him face elite wrestlers like Rashad or Davis. We have yet to see him face good strikers with good movements. Sadly, Rampage is neither of those. Not anymore anyway.

We have not seen him enuff in the UFc to really make any educated predictions i think, his next couple of fights should tell us more, he is definitely a good fighter but we need to see him tested more to see if he is Elite

If Shogun were to stay disciplined in his striking like he did in the Machida fight, he'd have handled: Hendo, Gusta, Glo-Tex, bascially everyone except Bones. But he's regressed into a predictable brawler. The skill and the heart are there, but he doesn't seem to have the dedication to be a champion.

The only people that pose a threat to Glover are Jones and Machida. Rashad would be interesting, too. Gustafson is a gamer, but i think Glover takes him.

Nah, he wasn’t.  Did he want to go out with a win? Yes. Did he train hard? Of course.

But I don’t think he was motivated enough to train as hard as guys like Jones, Bader, Machida, Gustafsson, Rashad, etc. Especially the wresting aspect and cardio.
