Yup definately frequent meals, protien heavy mains, lots of greens, sweet potato and potato for carbs. 8 hrs sleep, a protien shake no later than 45 mins after a workout, FISH OIL (very good for mental and physical health), high percentage protien foods, eggs are highest, red meat has only 70% usable protien, where eggs are up around 98%. Medium fruits, they have essential sugars. Also foods such as peanut butter, multigrain bread, milk and oats, are all combinations for a reason, together their combo of amino acids can create usable protiens. Phone Post

lol

simple stuff

he is not getting enough calories

buy a meal replacement/weight gainer from bodybuilding.com and some whey protein powder from them also. add a scope of the protein to the meal replacement/weight gainer. take it 3 times a day that should be about 2100 calories right with each meal replacement/weight gainer being about 600 calories and with the scope of protein will add another 100 calories.

eat 3 whole food meal with those 3 meal replacement/weight gainers. rice and chicken breast or pasta with meat sauce.

6 meals per day minimum.

What training are you doing? If you are doing BB type training I'd suggest instead to look into starting strength (startingstrength.com) or 5x5.

So me and a friend of mine trane together at the gym. Weights we focus on while together. However although my friend tranes hard and eats as much as he can he can not put on weight. So i thought I would ask here about best training/diet regimes for him to stop him turning to supplements.

Any advice would be much appreciated. My vote ups will go to any helpful individuals. :) Phone Post

Depends on how big you want to get. For example Alistair Overeem eats about 9 meals a day.

Is roidereem your inspiration? If so your a tool.

He also shoot roids in his ass 9 times a day.

Dumb fuck you are to use him as an example.

He didn't get busted for steroids. Idiot.

And you don't think a guy can naturally bulk up on 9 meals a day?

Everybody who wants to get big jams their mouth full of protein, we all know that part. But some dudes get scared of getting fat along with getting big. Unless it's your first time lifting or your on the gear, then your BF% will increase with the new weight, you might even get a bulking gut—that's good, means you're growing.

Don't skimp on the carbs and fats. Whole milk in that protein shake, son (if you can handle milk, if not peantut butter, son). Potatoes, macaroni, whole rice, quinoa, barley...all that shit.

Very important, not for bulking, but for the toilet and overall health: eat green veg with every meal.

There are MANY variables to Gaining weight. It depends on daily activity levels, metabolism, training style, etc. he needs to find out what his maintenance levels of macronutrients are, then he needs to add about 300-500 calories daily to that. Carbs are just as important as protein to put on muscle. Check out the Get Swole plan at MusclePharm.com Phone Post

When I was a wildly unsuccessful amateur fighter I was under-eating very badly. Weigh-in's here were always same-day so I was always walking around a few pounds off 65 kgs (143).

Last fight was in the San Shou nationals in late 2009.

I said I'd take a 'break' from fighting & just started eating like a motherfucker (but keeping it clean & healthy) and doing LOTS of compound lifts.

Flash forward 3 years & I'm a nice (relatively) lean 170 :)

I know this is the internet & I would like to say the weight was exclusively muscle but really my BF has remained fairly similar- slight increase but still happy with the definition.

Eat fuckin everything and train harder and heavier than you've ever trained. Make sure your form is proper and you have a motivated partner. This will not only keep you safe but create some healthy competition. Eat everything. Phone Post

Your friend is doing it right.

Eat clean, eat ALOT, train heavy and keep the reps low. 3-5 reps for 3 sets on each exercise, allow time to grow if your an ectomorph.

Also, shut up and squat Phone Post
