Really? Well where is Phil Taylor in the poll then? He has won 16 world titles in darts, that's a minority sport, he should be in!

Hockey players don't belong in these mind of polls

Not sure what your deal is with hockey, but it is a very widespread international and athletic sport that is very popular. It has been in the Olympics for almost 100 years. In the NHL there is a comparable amount of athletes as most other popular sports leagues and the average pay is comparable to the top sports leagues, meaning it must be popular enough to pay those athletes and to support the international competitions.

How soon people forget the way Fedor utterly dominated the world of MMA.

While I'm fairly certain that Fedor is the undisputed, greatest MMA fighter in history, I personally believe that Royce Gracie is the most important fighter in history, with Kaz Sakuraba somewhere in the top 5 (being the man who dispelled the myth of Gracie Jits and revolutionized the way we fight.

Cletus Redpecker III - Jordan seems to be getting a lot of support, but I assume many don't remember his short stint at trying to play baseball.

Bo Jackson all day. Guy was a freak and excelled in two sports.

Could hit with power, and throw a baseball better than anyone in MLB at the time.

Bo Jackson and Micheal Jordan both played Baseball.

But only one did it well.

Four more years with a good hip and Bo would have been king of the world.

And professional hockey players, as a whole, are some of the best athletes in the world.

The only one that is even remotely close to Global is basketball. In fact, I think if someone ran the numbers the global player base hockey would for sure be higher than football AND baseball. Gretzky should win the entire thing, him or Bo. Woods I wouldn't complain about because he was the single most dominant athlete ever, even if it was for 5 years in a sport where guys have 30 year careers.

I agree, Gretzky was so far above and beyond anyone in the game, before or since. Bo was the best running back in football and one of baseball's best players, at the same time.

Either one would be deserving.
