Chris27 -It's the most anticipated women's fight in the history of MMA. A promoters job is to put on fights people want to see to make $$$. Tell me how it doesn't make sense.stop_it_right_meow -

PrettyBoy -Because a loss hurts rondas brand and credibility. Not to mention that they can't even promote cyborg after that because they have no division for her to fight in.Chris27 -It's the most anticipated women's fight in the history of MMA. da Vinci 81 -Also, remember that while it is the fight fans here want to see, the majority of their money really comes from average less informed fans. They probably don't know enough to want this fight. If that is the case it could ruin Rhonda's rep to the casual fans as Zuffa has all their eggs in her basket to sell the wmma thing.PrettyBoy -Because a loss hurts rondas brand and credibility. Mental and Gunnar are correct. How anyone could take Cyborg seriously after she cheated and constantly demands she gets what she wants is ridiculous. |

Tell me how it doesn't make sense.stop_it_right_meow - Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something here. We ARE talking about the 135lb championship, right? Not the 140lb, not the 145lb...but the 135lb division championship belt, currently held by Rhonda Rousey. Why oh why would the UFC suddenly bend over backwards to accomodate Cybroid in her wish to fight for the 135lb championship belt AT FUCKING 140 POUNDS??? And even if they did make the fight at 140, its not even a superfight....what title does Cybroid hold? Nothing...nada....her org got folded after she got suspended for cheating. She is champion of nothing, and brings nothing but a large man's body to fight against a smaller woman...ooooooo...I want to see THAT freakshow again.

cheesesteak - Come on, why do people have to act so dumb about Cyborg. For christ sakes just stop taking steroids and she will lose 10 lbs of muscle mass. Why are people so retarded about this issue?Thank you. Finally somebody speaks the truth.

Cyborg walked around looking like a dude. Everyone knew she was hitting the juice. She blew her chances and showed she was a cheat. She's also yesterday's news. |

People talk like Ronda is obliged to fight at a catchweight. Ronda's at 135. If people want to fight her, she's not running anywhere now. This fight would be great for the money, but when you're the champ, you don't chase the challenger, they chase you. Cyroid can't cut 5lbs more to be champ?

Glovegate -You forgot to mention Cyborg then tested positive for steroids. So all bets went out the window. Rhonda went from having something to prove to Cyborg needing to prove she can win clean. And that's easier to prove at 135 and not at the weight (muscle mass) she was at when it was speculated and then proven (tested positive for steroids). Its more than reasonable to require Cyborg to make the cut to 135 at this point.MentaL - Wants to leave organisation with the champ, says champ is ducking. Holy meme. And while many like to believe it was just used to cut weight. Which is wrong. It was used to maintain muscle and strength while cutting weight. Winny can increase your strength significantly. Not at the same level as other steroids but compared to over the counter or being clean, its a big advantage. Some need to not let their personal feelings get in the way of reality. Hate Rhonda if you like but she isn't the one coming off a suspension for taking steroids.

er095 - If Dana says he wants to make big fights and even fun fights why not Ronda vs Cyborg at catch. I mean you would do Silva vs St p at catch. I guess too much invested on Ronda to just take a chance like thatWhich was it who tested positive in their last fight GSP or Anderson Silva? I can't remember. I also can't remember which one was making their UFC debut, Anderson Silva or GSP? You may need to also help me with which one currently isn't a UFC champion. Is it GSP or Anderson Silva who isn't a current UFC Champion? I want to see them fight but I don't want to reward Cyborg for cheating. We can speculate all day on who takes what but when you test positive for a banned performance enhancing substance you shouldn't be rewarded with a title/super fight at your terms (at any terms for thst matter).

Glovegate -MentaL - Wants to leave organisation with the champ, says champ is ducking. Holy meme. Olympics have same day weigh ins first of all... If you look at Rousey at that weight that was alot for her to carry. She didn't exactly look in the best shape at 154lbs. Prior to that Rousey faught all her Judo matches at 63kg (138lbs), which says something since they do weigh in the day of the match. 135lbs fits her very well. Rousey also stated this while Cyborg was the champ at 145lbs so Cyborg had something she wanted. Things have changed drastically since then. Rousey is now the 135lb champ, and not only is Cyborg no longer the 145lb champ, she also lost it do to cheating. Cyborg no longer has anything of value that Ronda wants. Her reputation and previous fighting history is now questionable, she has no title, and there is not even a 145lb division in the UFC. Ronda would be doing Cyborg a favor by fighting her at any weight other than 135lbs. While we are on the subject of going back on someones statements, lets talk about Cyborg. She had a really hard time getting fights at 145lbs because there was not really a great deal of legitimate competition at that weight. Cyborg said this in an interview and also stated that she was considering a move down to 135lbs because it seemed like that is where the majority of legit competition was. Yet, now she can't do it... or at least will not even try to do it. Cyborg is more interested in being queen of her own division, and body building rather than toning her muscle down a bit and fighting in the UFC. That is her decision and unlike Tito, they are not going to create a special division for her. She will continue to call out Ronda to help her career, however if she really wanted Ronda then she knows where to find her. She will be the one holding the shiny UFC belt, getting the media attention, making the big bucks, and constantly improving. Cyborg needs Rousey far more than Rousey will ever need Cyborg. |

It makes no sense to put that fight on right now at anything other than 135 pounds. |

da Vinci 81 - Why would the UFC want to let one fighter walk in, beat their champ, and then leave? Short term it may be a good payday but long term it only hurts theirs and rousey's brand. I wonder if there was a SHW who couldnt make teh HW limit but wanted to fight Cain, would the UFC do that fight? Would they UFC make a fight with Cain vs a SHW and possibly have the SHW win when the UFC doesnt have a SHW div and the guy cant make HW. Would the UFC do that? So why would they do the same exact thing in this case? |

People keep talking superfights...lol Superfight is Champion vs. Champion. Not Champion vs. No longer a champion because they were stripped of their title do to cheating and there is no weight division for them in the current organization. Quite a few of Cyborgs fights were against 135lb fighters as it is. No more making "special" fights for her. |

ronda has been picked up by the UFC because she gets coverage from media outlets that the UFC usually cant get near viewers and readers of those media outlets dont know anything about cyborg, have never heard of her it serves the ufc interest in no way to have cyborg fight rousey, at 135 let alone 145. But at 135 at least its a legit fight that cant be reasonably refused. As long as Cyborg isnt at 135 she's getting nothing because she's all risk and no reward as far as the rousey/ufc mainstream media circus is concerned |
