Superfight is Champion vs. Champion. Not Champion vs. No longer a champion because they were stripped of their title do to cheating and there is no weight division for them in the current organization.

Quite a few of Cyborgs fights were against 135lb fighters as it is. No more making "special" fights for her.
If Dana really thinks Aldo/Edgar was a superfight, idk how anybody could justify this not being a catchweight superfight.

I see the point but personally I didn't think it was a superfight. However, in Dana's defense both of those fighters were active in divisions within the UFC. This is a case where a fighter is not in any division in the UFC, nor do they have the desire to.

Be fair. Ronda won her medal at 155lbs. When she was at 145 talk of a Cyborg fight came up. Ronda then opted to go down to 135 and started picking a fight with Tate. She stated it was her intention to win the belt at 135 then fight Cyborg. She then went back on that plan.

And then, of course, what you said about Cyborg is also true.

You know she could have also requested any type of Doctors supervision and tests to make sure she stayed healthy. I bet money Zuffa would have paid, no problems. Rhonda is the UFC 135lb champion. Generally speaking, if someone wants to fight her for the 135lb strap, then they need to meet the weight requirements of that division, i.e. 135lbs or less.

Given that, how fucking idiotic is it for you and Cyborg to think that she should be allowed to weigh in at 140 to fight for 135lb title?!?!

Ronda is the ufc champ? There isn't a champ, yet. There's Ronda, who holds a make believe belt, that she hasn't fought for, or more importantly defended. Ronda was trash talking cyborg, and then turtled when cyborg could finally fight her. Phone Post

Olympics have same day weigh ins first of all... If you look at Rousey at that weight that was alot for her to carry. She didn't exactly look in the best shape at 154lbs. Prior to that Rousey faught all her Judo matches at 63kg (138lbs), which says something since they do weigh in the day of the match. 135lbs fits her very well.

Rousey also stated this while Cyborg was the champ at 145lbs so Cyborg had something she wanted. Things have changed drastically since then. Rousey is now the 135lb champ, and not only is Cyborg no longer the 145lb champ, she also lost it do to cheating. Cyborg no longer has anything of value that Ronda wants. Her reputation and previous fighting history is now questionable, she has no title, and there is not even a 145lb division in the UFC. Ronda would be doing Cyborg a favor by fighting her at any weight other than 135lbs.

While we are on the subject of going back on someones statements, lets talk about Cyborg. She had a really hard time getting fights at 145lbs because there was not really a great deal of legitimate competition at that weight. Cyborg said this in an interview and also stated that she was considering a move down to 135lbs because it seemed like that is where the majority of legit competition was. Yet, now she can't do it... or at least will not even try to do it.

Cyborg is more interested in being queen of her own division, and body building rather than toning her muscle down a bit and fighting in the UFC. That is her decision and unlike Tito, they are not going to create a special division for her. She will continue to call out Ronda to help her career, however if she really wanted Ronda then she knows where to find her. She will be the one holding the shiny UFC belt, getting the media attention, making the big bucks, and constantly improving. Cyborg needs Rousey far more than Rousey will ever need Cyborg.

She's the champion because the only female fighters signed to the UFC are those that populated the Strikforce women's division, which she won the belt within. It's just common sense that she's automatically the champion.

It'd be different if the UFC already had a women's division before signing Ronda.

What happens if Rousey loses at 140? The credibility of the entire 135 division will be lost when the champ is exposed as paper.
