epic hero -Glovegate - That means you missed or were unable to recognize all the times that Machida caught Dan coming in with punches or knees. Dan can take a punch, we knew this, Machida knew this. He still got some good strikes in there without giving himself Dan the fight he wanted on a platter like Shogun or Fedor. |

"I won the fight, but not officially. I hit him whenever he wanted to fight. He ran away most of the time." Machida had most of the best strikes. It doesnt have to count only when "he wanted to fight." Machida clearly caught Dan enough times when Dan charged in, more than Dan got him anyhow. |

gamer -Domingo - Machida won, but I really do hate how passive he is. Rampage had the right idea. Get close and then out-wait him. Make it seem like he's afraid to engage. Machida essentially forces everyone to either have long reach or to fight passively. How does Shogun's dick taste? |

a) Hendo can not be intelligentally debated as the best fighter of all time. b) Hendo lost that fight, in the judges eyes as well as mine. |

im jus glad this was not the main event and that the ladies golt to headline.they made everyone who said that "hendo vs machida should be the main event" and "women should never headline" look real stupid. would watch liz and ronda fight any one.not sure if i could of handled two more rounds of lyotto and dan unless lyotto actually engaged a few times for longer than 1 sec at a time or at least did some damage that 1 sec he does engage. |

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Video-UFC-157-PostFight-Press-Conference-50191 watching the post fight presser now and Dan basically says it was his fault, he let Machida play his game, doesnt blame the judges but still that Machida didnt fight or picked and chosed when he wanted to fight. |

Wasa-B - http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Video-UFC-157-PostFight-Press-Conference-50191 Lol...whatever.
"Normally that’s not my type of fight, a little bit boring,” Henderson said at the UFC 157 post-fight press conference. “He did a good job moving around and was real hard to hit. I needed to stay in his face and cut him off a little bit better and make him fight. He did a good job not fighting.” |

boxy - When Cecil Peoples said you won, it's time to acknowledge you lost. This is probably one of the greatest lines I have ever seen on this forum.
Take a bow. |

Machida should have points deducted for timidity. His entire fighting style is based exclusively around waiting for the other person to engage. Counter punching is fine but you have to come forward sometimes, like Maynard said after fighting Guida, "You have to give the other person a chance to fight." |

Willy the Coyote - Anyone who thinks Dan won that fight is delusional. He was outclassed on the feet, and his biggest accomplishment was sitting in Lyoto's guard for a couple of minutes. Lyoto landed more significant strikes, showed far superior footwork, and did more damage on the ground in 5 seconds than Dan did in two minutes.Actually, anyone who uses the term "outclass" to describe that fight is delusional....and clueless about MMA. Outclass doesn't belong in a close fight. Machida won a boring, close decision. Outclass? Never go full frontal retard.

Machida won. He landed much more and got the takedown. Round 3 wasnt a takedown, Machida clearly slipped. I can understand why it was a frustrating fight for Henderson, but I dont see how anyone thinks he won the fight? |

In the striking department, where 80+% of the fight took place, Machida did indeed outclass Danny boy.
There was no question, after watching 3 rounds, that Machida was the far superior striker. If he were white and Amurican you would agree. |

Yes he was because he knew that he had to because of the takedown. To me it's pretty disgusting that the only time Machida will engage is when he thinks he will lose the round on points, otherwise revert to SOP - step back and wait. |

Machida gives his opponent two options: (i) Rush forward into the wood chipper and get knocked out. (ii) Don't rush blindly forward and the fight will end with zero strikes thrown by either fighter. IMO fighters should start choosing option 2, fans will realize who is to blame for the crappy fight. |

He never landed all those other strikes including knees head kicks and stiff punches. That was all a figment of our imagination. Disgusting. He should have let him bang bro. |

I couldn't believe anyone even thought it was close. It looked like some drunk guy trying to hit a martial artist.
