The double Y bone skeleton means cleaning pike is a tough job. Walleye = less work, less slime, more taste. No brainer. You have ignored this user.

tjmitch - I have never seen a speckler trout before, is that fresh or salt water? Where do they run?

I have the jones to go out for some late season bass fishing. It will be slow, but sometimes you get a nice hog looking to fatten up for the winter.

They are saltwater and usually stick to warmer water. Spawn is spring time. Funny thing is they are part of the Drum family like Redfish but are called Trout because they look so similar to freshwater Trout.

Great fight, they like to jump and tail dance like a freshwater trout but have a decent pull to make runs like a redfish would. I have fishing lights on my pier and usually catch these guys literally 3 feet from where I am standing with a lure which makes the fight more intense... You have ignored this user.

Launch two lines out with a live mullet, stick them in the holders and sit back and hang with the kids and drink a beer. Once the clicker goes off, it's on. Got a few bull reds a few weeks ago.
