I went Sunday - west central Indiana . Spent am hour or so speed walked to a couple spots. Found 2 pounds roughly all nice grays, couple blacks, 1 nice yellow and about 10 peckerheads. My bro in law same day east central Indiana found a shit load of peckerheads and what I call a woods mushroom ( brown sponge ) not gray not black or yellow but brownish. Just talked to a guy twenty minutes ago has found 32 pounds in past 2 days mostly all blacks. Been cold and very rainy this past week . I've got tomorrow off supposed to rain all day but I'm gonna be out there. That devils teacup, you aren't eating those are you......?

No, but you can eat them. They are terrible though and kinda no point. Damn 32 lbs. I would be happy with ten. Five last year but only went once. |

Hmmm I always thought they were bad.
Yep 32 pounds.... Lucky dude. Another guys brother has found 20 past couple days.
The local grocery has them for sale in the deli...... $49 per pound ! Not sure what they are paying to get them . That's crazy. What parts you hunting in or will be? I've been working 12 hour days and building a new house so not much free time :( But it's a long weekend so rain or shine I'm gonna make some time starting tomorrow afternoon.

Ya think ?? I figured maybe $30 or so a pound but it's $49 packaged in a nice plastic container. ..... Allen county is that southeast of Indy ? You got some days set aside ?

I picked up a couple of pounds of greys last week in Nebraska and then got totally skunked in KC and Lake of the Ozarks. Go figure. As soon as my legs recover a little from fishing so much I'm going to hit the KC area again. Probably Sunday. |

My father in law found 10 pounds all yellows yesterday. Said he found about 200 of them in one spot. I didn't get to go , too much stuff going on my only day off work :( Talked to a lady last night showed me pics of the 9 lbs her husband found. I guess this is a good year too bad I'm working so much .......

Everybody is finding them like crazy this year ! I've been working so much / building new house after work haven't been out much . Looking like a rain out tomorrow tho. ;) Went last night for hour and a half found right at 1 pound of very fresh yellows. My buddy sold 6.5 pounds today to a local restaurant for $20 a pound. He said he had about same amount at home in the fridge.

Nameless1 - Good luck Kinda trying to take luck out of it. I found the spots where we got 6lbs last year and somewhat certain they will be there again. These greys were hard as hell to see and almost seemed like a mirage. |

Rained all day yesterday . Myself and friend went for about 5 hours. Didn't find alot but what we found were big. All yellows. One was 6 inches tall and 3.5 inches across. Found 3/4 potato sack each roughly 3.5 pounds each. Most were very fresh . ........ So what did the old guy have to say about the season ?

He told us that he and his wife had drove down to Bloomington earlier in month and the areas were picked over hardcore by the locals. He said it was almost a total bust in Monroe county for them as a result. He also told met that the yellows (and maybe one other) have a second coming in about a week or two whee they come out larger. |
