If your headset is about a 3 or higher it should be good there, so then do this: start a multiplayer game, pause it and go to options, then at the bottom is a voice volume setting. I'd turn it halfway up to start out. One of these will fix your issue. You have ignored this user.

WhiteDynamite - Chuck - on your PS menu go to accessories, then audio accessories.
