Bird and Jordan are probably extremely similar when it comes to competition. They'd both smash your nuts and cut your throat to win. The big difference is Bird is a great GM where as Jordan couldn't pick players for shit. Don't poop on Jordan, he and Bird got along.

also Bird swept Jordan twice in the playoffs.

Bird saved the NBA? Magic owned him, in college and the pros. They both took the NBA to a new level, and Jordan took it even further.

Bird and Magic saved the NBA with their Rivalry.

Magic Did beat him and was a more well rounded player.

Bird was a better Shooter.

That rivalry is what sports is all about though. Honestly. Two guys who respect but want to kill each other when they play. Now the players just join forces its fucked up.

As was mentioned earlier, the idea of Bird being unathletic was a myth. In his prime he was quick, agile, and strong. Guys like Nowitzki, Kevin Love, and Gasol wish they were the athletes that prime Bird was.

Dont lump Kevin Love in with Dirk and Gasol. They arent the same kind of players. Kevin Love is a traditional four who happens to have three point range, the other two put together still arent half the rebounder Love is.
